Services provided include:
Confidential and in-depth review of client security vulnerabilities, and specific strategies to remove or reduce same. Environmental Criminology practices incorporating principles of Crime Prevention, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, Problem Oriented Policing, and Routine Activity are utilized according to the needs of the unique and specific site and at the perimeter, exterior and interior of the location. Security policy, procedures, and training protocols may also be reviewed. Additionally, Mr. Roberts lectures on a variety of topics related to the security industry.
Forensic Services include both confidential expert consultation in a non-testifying capacity, as well as formal expert designation for plaintiff or defendant in matters concerning premises liability, criminal foreseeability, third party criminal acts, negligent security, and security standards of care.

Director of Risk Management Valor Security Services, Inc.
Valor Security Services was a fortune one thousand corporation and the single largest provider of contract security personnel to the shopping center industry.
In his capacity as Director of Risk Management, Mr. Roberts designed and implemented the training programs for all security officers, supervisors, and account managers.Mr. Roberts was also responsible for conducting security evaluations for all Valor properties, as well as providing tenant and client educational seminars on security related topics including personal safety, employee theft, and shoplifting prevention and response. J. R. also reviewed incident reports and worked with police department and GIS (geographic information systems) to identify and respond to any emerging trends or patterns of criminal activity at a given property.

Vice-President Georgia Citizen’s Against Crime
A corporation providing educational seminars and training to corporate, public, and private institutions and organizations and addressing concerns of safety, security, and workplace violence. Mr. Roberts also conducted security evaluations and audits of corporate offices and campuses, and industrial plants to assist in the development of short and long range security strategies to implement target hardening and risk transference principles commensurate to risk and reduce likelihood of crime.
1976 – 1981
Private Investigator
J. R. Roberts served in an apprentice capacity prior to sitting for and passing the examination to become a licensed private investigator in Los Angeles California.Working for several agencies, Mr. Roberts conducted surveillance, worked in a variety of under cover positions to monitor employee honesty and

conducted extensive skip-trace assignments in order to locate individuals and assets.
Security Industry Certifications and Designations
Crime Prevention Specialist
Certification awarded upon successful completion of an examination demonstrating mastery of the core curriculum of the International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners. ISCPP is the largest collective of crime prevention specialists in the world. J. R. was awarded the CPS designation in 1988 in an examination in Detroit, Michigan proctored by Special Agent Joseph Harpold of the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.. Mr. Roberts was among the very first civilians to be awarded the Crime Prevention Specialist designation.
Certified Crime Prevention Practitioner
Bestowed by the Office of the Attorney General of the state of Florida for completion of an extensive core curriculum representing over 400 hours of class room and practical field work and subsequent examinations demonstrating mastery of said material. A sampling of course work includes: Crime Prevention, Commercial Crime Prevention, Residential Crime Prevention, Hospitality Crime Prevention, College Campus and University Crime Prevention, Convenience Store Security, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, and Crime Prevention Technology. The Certified Crime Prevention Practitioner designation was bestowed on Mr. Roberts in 1990 by then Attorney General Robert Butterworth. Mr. Roberts has subsequently lectured for the Florida Crime Prevention Institute.

NCPI is operated in conjunction with and funded in part by the United States Department of Justice and the University of Louisville in Louisville Kentucky.Mr. Roberts attended a series of successive courses between 1990 and 1992 representing several hundred hours. Each course required successful passage of proctored examination. Courses included: Crime Prevention, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, Crime Research, Crime Analysis, and Crime Litigation.
Forensic Linguistics/Statement Analysis
Forensic Linguistic analysis (Statement Analysis) is currently used by the NSA, FBI, and a wide variety of International and local law enforcement agencies as a valuable investigative tool in deception detection. Statement Analysis evaluates oral and written statements for critical and subconscious language shifts which may help determine evasiveness, or a lack of candor. Mr. Roberts obtained permission to attend the Alpha Group Training (usually restricted to law enforcement) through the Florida Department of Justice Coordination in 2002 and subsequently continued advanced training in this area with former RCMP Investigator John Kaster as well as significant and extensive independent research, study, and review.
Specialist in Advanced Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
With admission restricted to qualified and experienced crime prevention practitioners with prior working knowledge of CPTED concepts and applications, this training advances the practitioners knowledge of CPTED through practical field and class room work. CPTED has been used by architects, city planners, law enforcement and private security for 40 years. Mr. Roberts completed this training program under the tutelage of his mentor, the late Timothy D. Crowe, former Director of the National Crime Prevention Institute and author of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. Course completed in 2003.
The Center for Problem Oriented Policing
With funding from the Department of Justice, The Center for Problem Oriented Policing advances and highlights new technologies and strategies in

Crime Prevention to enhance the “identification and analysis of specific crime and disorder problems to develop effective response strategies”. The resulting collaboration between law enforcement and the private sector has yielded innovative and dramatic changes in analyzing and responding to crime problems, as exemplified by “crime mapping”, advanced geographic information systems and other models specific to environmental criminology.
In October of 2013 Mr. Roberts attended the 24th annual International Conference for the Center for Problem Oriented Policing in Dayton, Ohio.
In October, 2011 J. R. attended the 22nd annual Conference for the Center for Problem Oriented Policing in Miami, Florida.
In September of 2008, Mr. Roberts attended the 19th annual conference for the Center for Problem Oriented Policing in Seattle, Washington where he delivered a series of lectures for the organization.
In September of 2007 Mr. Roberts attended the 18th annual POP Conference in Madison, Wisconsin and completed the comprehensive Problem Oriented Policing Model Curriculum.
Task Force
From 2005 to 2011 J. R. Roberts served by appointment of Savannah Georgia City Mayor Otis B. Johnson on the Public Safety Task Force. The special commission was tasked with providing long range strategies and public safety policies to enhance safety, security, and quality of life for Savannah residents and visitors. These duties included in depth evaluation and assessment of police department structure and protocols the findings of which were published. In January, 2008 Mr. Roberts was honored by the Mayor and City council for his contributions to the city.
From 1995 to 1996 Mr. Roberts served by appointment of the Atlanta City Council and Mayor as Chair of the Crime Safety Awareness Committee prior to and in anticipation of the 1996 Olympic Games. As a result of this work, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and order maintenance

concepts were introduced to the city, public safety and security policies were reviewed and a number of new guidelines implemented.
