John Holmes, 1904-62 Bibliography The material contained in the following pages has been brought together from two bibliographies of Holmes’ work. Alan Seaburg compiled a bibliography of Holmes’ writings which appeared in the Bulletin of the New York Public Library (v. 11, no. 5) in 1967. A subsequent bibliography was prepared by Gabor Erdelyi and Mary A. Glavin which incorporated additional published materials as well as the unpublished materials contained in the Holmes collection at Tufts. For ease of use, the contents of both bibliographies dealing with Holmes’ published works have been combined and organized into sections. However, two important caveats apply. Firstly, this bibliography does not have a direct relationship to the records on the Holmes collection contained in the collections database, and thus does not perform the role of a finding aid for the collection. Secondly, while some errors in the content of the of the bibliographies have been corrected, no systematic effort was made to check the bibliographies against reference sources to remove incorrect information. A number of citations are incomplete, and the listing has not been updated to reflect recent publications of works by Holmes. Books Along the Row and twelve other poems.
