Take your New Year’s Resolutions to the next level by upgrading them into real goals. Follow the steps in this guide to upgrade 1 resolution to an actionable goal. Once you set and reach your first goal, you’ll be prepared to set more goals. Over time, your goals will lead to a more successful, meaningful and fulfilling life. Step 1: Make a list of your Resolutions. Just make a simple list of a few things you’d like to accomplish in 2013. _____________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ Step 2: Pick 1 Resolution. You want to focus your attention on 1 resolution only. Don’t allow yourself to get distracted with too many resolutions. For now, 1 is enough. This is your goal. _______________ ______________________________________________________ Step 3: Set a Date. You want to set a specific date for your goal (i.e. March 31, 2013). This will give your goal power, focus and perspective. By setting a date, you make your goal actionable. Set a date: _____________. Step 4: Work for your Goal. Be brave...don’t be afraid to work hard in order to reach your goal. Stay on track. Be consistent and confident as you work toward your goal. Take small consistent, daily steps. Step 5: Visualize the accomplishment of your goal. Understand that visualization is one of the most powerful skills you can master. When you visualize on your goal, think in the present tense, as if you have already accomplished the goal. This will make the goal more believable. Step 6: Be Grateful. An attitude based on grateful appreciation for all your gifts will attract even more gifts into your life.
