John A. Coleman Catholic High School May 2018
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
It is May - although it hasn’t exactly felt like Spring has arrived. The weeks go by so very quickly
and we continue to be busy here at Coleman.
The Seniors went to the annual Mass with the Cardinal last week and we officially have four weeks
left for them. The last day of class for Seniors is Friday, May 25th. Graduation practice is Wednesday,
May 30th, Baccalaureate is Thursday, May 31st, and Graduation is Saturday, June 2nd. Please keep
all our Seniors in your prayers as they prepare to move on with their education. We will miss them.
Thursday, May 17th is the Junior/Senior Prom at Novella’s in New Paltz. That day is a Faculty
Conference Day and all students are off. We e-mailed everyone a letter we received from the Ulster
County District Attorney about keeping all students safe during prom season. If you didn’t see it,
please check with us and we will resend it. There is no school on Friday, May 18th. At our
Conference Day, the Faculty and Staff will be participating in a full day Safety and Security Training
Program. It will include many aspects of school safety. Please remember that school is in session
on May 24, 25. The students are off on the 17 and 18.
Our spring theatre production, “Godspell”, will have performances on May 3, 4. 5. Please be sure
to reserve your tickets for this all-student run production. It is a great show!! The students are very
excited to be producing every aspect of the show.
AP exams start on May 7th. They will be held on the 3rd floor. It is important that students get a good
night’s sleep before the exam and be on time for each test. AP exams run for two weeks.
I look forward to the weather finally changing. It is an exciting time of the year for sports. I hope
the weather cooperates. May God continue to bless all of us here at Coleman, look after all of our
endeavors, and keep watch over all in the Coleman family.
