Within the Halifax region alone, the Company has enough land for development projects over the next 20 years.We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for head office accounting duties, business case analysis and special accounting/financial projects.

Key Responsibilities & Priorities: Participate with CFO in the development of the annual strategic financial, business and budget

plans Compile monthly Divisional forecasts and spending including variance analysis Perform all head office accounting functions Work with Divisional Controllers and accounting staff to assist with accounting analysis, assess

trends, and explore new financial initiatives that can help add value and reach new levels of performance

Work with Divisional management and accounting staff to update and review financial key performance indicators, and ensure they are reported on in a timely, proactive fashion to ensure the effectiveness and profitability of operations and business development

Prepare year-end consolidated profit and loss statements for auditors Assist external tax consultants as necessary Facilitate external and internal audits Oversee daily banking functions of head office Assist Divisions as necessary with accounting controls and procedures

Perform working capital reviews to ensure cashflow management opportunities are maximized Continually analyze overhead spending to look for areas of opportunities Provide management with accounting expertise and advice Preparation of ad hoc analysis and reports on various assignments as required by the CFO Work on various accounting and financial projects Manage rebate calculations and payments Project cost analysis Other duties as required

Basic Requirements: Undergraduate degree in related field (Business, Accounting etc.) Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) 2-3 years of post-designation experience Strong knowledge of accounting functions and related control processes Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Office, accounting systems and technology Experience with accounting systems (ie: SAP, Syspro, Quickbooks, etc.) Superior organization and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks at once in a fast paced deadline driven environment Solid Analytical and problem solving skills Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Tax experience considered an asset Ability to embrace and lead change within the organization

Location: Time split between Head Office in Clayton Park, and divisional offices in Lantz
