JOB TITLE – R+D Project Manager DEPTR&D
ABOUT THE JOBAs R+D Project Manager you will take ownership of R&D projects throughout the full lifecycle; from gathering requirement, scoping, writing project plans through to delivery to ensure budgets and deadlines have been met. You will work closely with all stakeholders continuously keeping them updated on the progress of the project.
ORGANISATION/STRUCTURE CHART (one up, one down and peers)
Responsibilities: Prepare project schedules and cost estimates Track progress and cost against the planned schedule and cost Own the day to day management of the project through all delivery phases,
monitoring progress against milestones ensuring all activities are completed and contributions are made on time
Manage suppliers and sub-contractors Identify and seek solutions to resource shortfalls Define and measure success metrics Arrange and conduct sign off meetings to handover completion of each project to the
relevant department Manage risk and issues arising on the projects Prepare project reports and present them to management for review Manage internal and external stakeholders Build effective relationships with key stakeholders and contributors at all levels Work with the R+D Manager to ensure that new products are launched on time Develop and improve the stage and gate process as required Identify and pro-actively manage program risk. Develop program options and drive
risk decision making throughout the organisation

Be a significant contributor to developing the company’s product development process
Acting as a glue between various departments, you will be responsible for the delivery of NPD projects
KEY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Project management experience in a technical, engineering or R+D environment Experience with managing both internal and external customers Proven experience in defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support the
project requirements Demonstrable experience in delivering multiple projects on time, in scope and within
budget A natural drive to achieve outstanding results Ability to maintain overall control of the project budget and resources, ensuring
action is taken to prevent resource/budget resourcing Strong understanding of organisations that design, develop and produce technical
products. Proven understanding of cross-relationships and dependencies, and ability to
leverage that knowledge to reduce risk and improve project performance Strong communication skills including verbal, written and presentation Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Proven ability to listen for
understanding, negotiate and mediate differences to reach consensus while maintaining strong focus on technical and business objectives.
Experience managing both hardware and software development Understanding of FMEA & DFMEA process Fluent in Microsoft Office Products (Project, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) Degree qualified in a relevant technical subject
Desirable: Background knowledge of mechanical engineering/electronics and design including
product development Medical knowledge based on medical training and/or experience in medical practice
would be a distinct advantage.
