QOL is considered as a complex and multidimensional concept encompassing all areas of life. Lot of QOL research is done under the title “Health related Quality of Life” and “Positive Psychology”. However, research indicates that objective understanding of QOL can be acquired through measures like income, health, defense, employment, education, and environment as well as through individual’s own judgment and satisfaction about his own life conditions. Different models of QOL address the concept, measurement and enhancement aspect for the above mentioned areas. There is a necessity to take a bird’s eye view towards this multidimensional concept and integrate the strengths of each of the approaches. India is known for its rich heritage and vast pool of knowledge regarding spiritual aspect while developed countries have proved to have offered much comfortable, safer, and materially enriched living conditions to their citizens. Can both these worlds come together? What needs to be done for that? Can objective and subjective measures of QOL coincide to give a complete picture of the state of art in this area? The seminar tries to address these issues through intellectually triggering symposiums and panel discussions along with presentations done by experts and students working passionately in their fields. It is going to be a privilege for the participants to get acquainted with the precious thoughts and experiences of the dignitaries and invited experts and to understand how to apply.
