TITLE OF ESSAY: Walk the Talk: Living the Legacy of Jesse M. RobredoWORD COUNT: 686ESSAY:

Reviving a person's name and identity after death makes him/her a resounding icon of the year

and a mastercraft by his/her contemporaries. It honors individuals because of their discovery and

contribution to their fields of expertise or involvement in the progress of mankind. Such great minds

are Nikola Tesla in Physics, Aristotle in Philosophy, Mother Teresa of Calcutta for helping the poor,

etc. and most of them are inevitably celebrated around the world. Martyrs like Jose Rizal and Gregorio

del Pilar are also paving a path to recognition and fame. Yet, the most important of all, other than

prominence and glory, is the kind of life these people had lived and spent years on living their purpose

    and their LEGACY.

    A Man of Faith

Every being has purpose in life. It might be lifelong bequests or short-lived ones. Though most

people have not yet realized their legacy in life, still, it is a matter of searching and believing in your

purpose while living the life of simplicity and in harmony.

Sir Jesse Robredo, a political figure, had turned the events when he entered the government and

at the same time living a life of simplicity and in harmony. He is a man of faith that despite his

imperfections in life, he still pursued to work on a public trust. Sir Jesse, or Tito Jesse , is a member of

Couples of Christ (CFC) and, together with Tita Leni, he became a couple coordinator for CFC Youth

for Christ in Naga City. He worked with the youth to conquer their hearts and taught them to live a life

that is full of faith. He guided them towards Christ s freedom and love. And he never stopped

believing on his purpose of working with the youth as he gradually took the scene of politics when he

became a successful mayor of Naga and appointed DILG secretary.

    A Man of Action

The best way to live a life of faith is putting them in action.

What drives Tito Jesse to work on the government is to extend his service from CFC in his

hometown to his passion to work for the poor; he acted as the over-all tito of the whole populace of

Naga. And because of his hardwork and commitment, he was appointed Secretary of Interior and

Local Government and was able to extend further his helping hands to a larger community.

Even if he was in top position that time, he humbly accepted his anointing and served the

government for the people. There, he put his faith in his service for the poor in action. Even if he died

early, I believe he was able to accomplish his purpose in life: to serve his people especially the poor.

Now that hes gone, his legacy will neve r stop on his grave but will continue to bloom as a new

    purpose to live on.

A Man Who Walked His Talk

A man who is true to his words is a man who lived out what he says and shares.

I have neither met Tito Jesse, nor see him personally but knowing that we are in one

community of CFC, I believe it is safe to say that somewhat I knew this man of honor. I am an active

member of CFC Youth for Christ and I am serving this community for almost six (6) years. For those

years, I learned almost everything about leadership and community empowerment. I discovered how to

be a servant-leader to my household (the smallest unit in CFC ministry) and how to deal with the

    social work to the poor.

And I believe through the examples set by Tito Jesse, there is still hope in this nation and to the

world. We just have to pass on his legacy in life, to inspire hundreds of people especially the poor, to

have faith in our purpose and as long as we walked our talks, not just by words but through faith in

action and without compromising our living of simplicity and in harmony, we are to continue the

legacy of a man who really walked his own talks.
