Saturday, May 24 - Depart North America

Sunday, May 25 - Arrive in EntebbeRelax and enjoy a day to explore EntebbeUpon your arrival in Entebbe, the Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel airport shuttle will pick you up outside of the arrivals terminal and take you to the hotel, approximately 15 minutes away. The driver will hold a sign that says “Just Like My Child”. The shuttle will be pre-paid for you. Four-star hotel amenities include high speed wireless Internet, conference facilities, swimming pool, hot showers, cold beverages and continental breakfast. Recover and unwind after hours of travel.

Please be in the hotel lobby with luggage by 9:30 a.m. the following morning for departure to Luwero.

Monday, May 26 - Rest and RelaxWe will travel by vehicle to Luwero, approximately three hours from Entebbe. Please dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather of the day. Our hotel for the next two nights will be Ladryns Hotel, which is safe, clean and simple with few amenities.

10:00 a.m. Departure time from Entebbe to Luwero 1:00 p.m. Check into accommodations in Luwero and eat lunch 3:00 p.m. Debrief with JLMC staff on visit agenda and program5:00 p.m. Afternoon walk through the village 7:00 p.m. Dinner and rest

Before departure you will be given Just Like My Child Foundation’s Visitor’s Guide for information and tips on packing, immunizations, VISA requirements, money, Ugandan culture, weather, appropriate dress, etc. JLMC will provide accommodations and most meals, and the Bishop Asili Driver will be providing transportation.

e Children’s Academy of e Collective HeartSee firsthand the beauty of our Girl Power Project™ and the difference it makes for adolescent girls. Tour the classrooms and meet the staff and students of the first school built in Uganda by JLMC with the support of Beau Bressler and his mother, Debbie Ford. Observe Girl Power Clubs, meet the mentors and speak with the incredible staff. See first hand the level of impact that human rights education and empowerment training can have on a community in the Ugandan context and learn about how the Girl Power Project™ is helping the whole community address sexual and gender-based violence.

Tuesday, May 27 - Experience Girl Power

Visit our partner, Bishop Asili HospitalMeet the extraordinary staff and learn about the many services the hospital is able to provide with the help of Just Like My Child Foundation, such as a CD4 count machine, surgical suite, dental chair, medical equipment and doctor. Eat a delicious local Ugandan lunch with a cold beverage in the popular Smotrich Family Restaurant that was funded by one of JLMC’s most committed supporters in order to provide a higher quality experience for hospital clients. This in turn serves as income generation for hospital medications and salaries.

In the evening, enjoy laughter, fantastic star gazing and a delicious pig roast with some of JLMC’s American and Ugandan team members. It’s a great time to ask questions and reflect on the day’s events.

Meet our Project GRACE familiesJust Like My Child Foundation and Bishop Asili Hospital launched Project GRACE (Guiding Resources and Creating Empowerment), a micro-enterprise program designed to lift healthy HIV positive clientele out of poverty through self motivated and sustainable income generation activities involving goats, pigs and poultry. Learn how sustainable micro-enterprise projects coupled with mentorship and recognition of model farmers are impacting their quality of life and communities in a big way!

Wednesday, May 28 - Experience Microenterprise

Rest & RelaxReturn to Ladryns Hotel in the early evening for an hour of packing up for a two day, fun filled excursion that will begin the following day.

ursday, May 29 - Cultural ExchangeSt Joseph Magogo Primary SchoolTravel 35 minutes to St Joseph Magogo Primary School, where you will enjoy a beautiful performance of music, dance and drama by the talented students who competed at Uganda’s National Dance and Drama Competition just last year. Learn an African dance from these spirited kids, who are among the best in the country. Then, return to Bishop Asili Hospital for lunch at the Smotrich Cafe. In the afternoon, take basket weaving lessons from local female artisans, many of whom are HIV+ and being treated at Bishop Asili Hospital.

Travel two hours to the beautiful Murchison Falls National Park. With magnificent views of the majestic Murchison Falls, the four-star Paraa Safari Lodge offers a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. Set in a small area of landscaped gardens, the lodge recreates the mood of quiet elegance. Friday, May 30 - Boat SafariAfter breakfast you will take a picturesque boat ride down the Nile River to the foot of the gorgeous Murchison Falls. Afterwords, you will head back to Paraa Lodge to eat a delicious lunch before departing to the top of the falls for an easy walk around the cliffs and right up to the edge of the breath-taking falls themselves. The mesmerizing scenery, sounds and pure rush of the water will change your soul for the better. There really is nothing like it. In the evening relax and appreciate the superb setting, cool swimming pool and delicious cuisine. Enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning.

Saturday, May 31 - Land SafariEnjoy a lovely breakfast before an expert safari guide takes you out for an early morning game drive through bushland teeming with a wide variety of wildlife. See herds of elephants, giraffe, water buffalo and lions from a safe, but close distance. Travel back to Paraa Lodge to grab a snack and load your luggage into the vehicle before departing to Luwero for lunch and then on to Kampala for a Capital City adventure!

Saturday May 31 continued... – Capital City TourCulture & ShoppingTravel to the capital city of Kampala and check into 4-star accommodations. Stroll through the National Theatre craft market where you can find almost anything made in Uganda, including mats, bracelets, artifacts, beads and so much more. Bargain with the locals for a fair price and take home something that will remind you of the amazing experience you’ve had in the Pearl of Africa. Eat dinner at one of the vast array of delicious and authentic restaurant options throughout the city or within the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel in the evening after packing for departure to Entebbe Airport the following day.

Sunday, June 1 - Depart for North AmericaEnjoy a complimentary breakfast at the Metropole hotel before taking the airport shuttle to Entebbe for departure back to North America. The shuttle will be pre-paid by JLMC. Have a safe journey home! Uganda will remain in your heart forever.
