From the attention stance
Bring your Right foot into your Left foot
Bring your hands up infront of you and place the Left hand around the closed fist of the Right hand
The bases of the thumbs of both hands should be touching
The hand position should be inline with your chin
Your elbows should be bent at 90 degrees
Breathing should be relaxed and regular
Backwards into Front Stance (Zenkutsu Dachi) Double arm Block (Kosa Uke)

Step backwards with your Left leg towards the 7.30 clock position, landing in a wide front stance
Bring your Right fist to your Left shoulder and straighten the Left arm forward and downwards towards the Gedan position
As your Left foot reaches its stance position
Bring your Right arm down, striking to the Gedan Barai position and
Bring your Left arm up into an under the arm Uchi Uke block - elbow bent to 90 degrees
NOTE: Throughout the Kata, whenever the kosa uke double block is performed, the Gedan Barai is
always on the same side as which ever leg is forward in the stance
This can change depending on which school you are in e.g. SKIF style performs this as above the first time the technique is executed, then changes it for further appearances of the
technique
Do not spread the arms too far apart - the elbows should be shoulder width apart
The Right fist should be about 6 inches above the Right knee and the Left fist should finish no higher than the shoulder

Back Stance (Kokutsu Dachi) Double Block (Manji Uke)

Step towards the 9.00 o'clock position into back stance with your Left foot
Bring your Left fist to your shoulder and block downwards to the Gedan Barai position - the fist should finish above your Left knee
Focus towards the 9 o'clock position with your Right hand
As your Left foot reaches the stance position, pull your Right hand back quickly past your head, finishing with the hand slightly higher than your head, and with the palm of the fist facing 9 o'clock
Pull your shoulders back
Breathe out completely and tense all your body muscles for a brief moment on the completion of the move
Back Stance (Kokutsu Dachi) Double Block (Manji Uke)

Pivot on the balls of your feet towards the 3 o'clock position into back stance
Bring your Right fist to your shoulder and block downwards to the Gedan Barai position - the fist should finish above your Left knee
Focus towards the 3 o'clock position with your Left hand
As your feet reach the stance position, pull your Left hand back quickly past your head, finishing with the hand slightly higher than your head, and with the palm of the fist facing 3 o'clock
Pull your shoulders back
Breathe out completely and tense all your body muscles for a brief moment on the completion of the move
Front Stance (Zenkutsu Dachi) Upper Rising Block (Age Uke)

Keep the feet where they are but pivot so you are facing towards 10.30 in front stance
Raise your Right arm up in the direction of the rising block and push your Right hip forward
Bring your Left fist back to your Left hip
Bring your Left fist forward and up quickly from your waist to finish slightly above and about 6 inches in front of your forehead. At the same time bring your Right hand quickly back to your waist - palm facing upward
Push your Left hip forward so your shoulders finish at an angle of 45 degrees
Your Left hand palm should be facing you as it travels upward, turning away from you quickly at the end of the technique.
Make sure your front leg is bent with your knee over your toes, and your back leg is straight and locked
Breathe out completely and tense all your body muscles for a brief moment on the completion of the move

Do not step in a straight line as this will make your stance very narrow - step out to the 12 o'clock position so you land in a wide front stance

Before you start to turn, look over your Left shoulder to view the attacker coming at you from 12 o'clock
Step across towards the 10.30 clock position with your left foot, making sure when you finish the step you land in a WIDE front stance
Bring your Left hand up to your Right shoulder and stretch your Right hand in the direction you will be finishing the block ( low and to your right )
As you turn, push your Right arm and hip forward, keeping your Left arm at your shoulder until just before your feet land in the correct position
As your Left foot touches the finish position, bring your Left hand quickly from your shoulder to finish about 6 inches above your knee. At the same time bring your Right hand quickly back to your waist - palm facing upward
Make sure your front leg is bent with your knee over your toes, and your back leg is straight and locked

Pivot around anticlockwise until you are facing the 4.30 clock position in front stance. Having your Left foot at 3 o'clock will give you a good wide stance
As the Left foot reaches the full stance position, bring the hands up quickly and cross them at the wrists in front of the face. Left hand outside the Right
The hands are open, palms towards the face, fingers together
Close the hands into fists and slowly, over 3 seconds, lower and uncross the arms until they are infront of the chest, shoulder width apart, palms facing away
The elbows should be at 90 degrees, fists in line with the shoulders
Breathe out slowly during the uncrossing of the arms, and tense all your body muscles for a brief moment on the completion of the move
Front Snap Kick (Mae Geri)

Keep you hands in the same position
Bring you Right knee up and kick forward (Mae Geri) striking with the ball of the foot to the head area
Bring the Right foot back to the Left knee
As you start to step forward go straight into the next move
Step forward into Front Stance (Zenkutsu Dachi) and Punch to the Chest (Oi Zuki)

Bring your Left hand up and point it towards the 4.30 clock position in the direction you will be punching (to a point directly in front of you in line with the centre of your chest). This will give focus to your punch

As the Right foot reaches the full stance position, bring the hands up quickly and cross them at the wrists infront of the face. Right hand outside the Left
The hands are open, palms towards the face, fingers together

Turn your head slightly to the left towards 4.30
Breathe in quickly through the nose
Slowly step forward with the Left foot to 3 o'clock into Fudo dachi. This will make your stance Wide. Make sure the Right rear leg is Bent and the Right hip is pulled back slightly
Bring the Left open hand to the shoulder and as you step forward into Fudo Dachi, slowly push the hand forward towards the 4.30 clock position, the outside ridge of the hand away from you
Keep your Right fist on your Right hip
Breathe out slowly through the mouth for the duration of the move. Tense the body briefly at the end of the technique
Front Stance (Zenkutsu Dachi) and Reverse punch (Gyaku Zuki)

Keep you feet in the same position but lock your Rear leg straight into Front Stance (Zenkutsu Dachi)
Punch from your hip with your Right fist. The punch should finish directly in line with the centre of your chest towards the 4.30 clock position.
Pull your Left fist quickly back to your hip
Push your Right hip forward and your Left hip back to give more reach to the punch
Make sure your Left knee is over your Left toes
Do not lean forward
Breathe out partially - follow on to the next move immediately
Standing punch (Choku Zuki)

Pull the right fist back to the Right hip
Do not change the stance position from the previous move
Breathe out completely and tense all your body muscles for a brief moment on the completion of the move
Front Kick (Mae Geri)

Kick forward with the Right leg
Make sure you pull your toes back so you hit the target area with the ball of the foot
Keep the Left hand forward and the Right fist on your Right hip. Do not allow your elbows to stick out to the sides
After the kick, do not step forward, pull the Right foot back to the original position
Breathe out partially - follow on to the next move immediately
