    a motor vehicle or the frst reusal or an 18-

    Wreath Ice Cream CakeIngredients:20 Chocolate Cream-Filled Sandwich Cookies1 tbsp. Granulated Sugar2 tbsp. Butter, melted1 quart Vanilla Ice Cream, sotened1 1/2 cups Nondairy Whipped Topping, thawedew drops Green Food Coloring1 (4.25 oz.) tube Red Decorating Icing20 Cinnamon Red Hot Candies2 tbsp. Green Colored Sugar

    Preparation: Split 15 o the cookies; reserve thecookies halves with the flling. Crush the cookie halveswithout the flling and combine with sugar and butter.

    Press frmly onto bottom o a 9-inch springorm pan.

    Coarsely chop remaining whole cookies and thereserved halves with flling.

    Stir chopped cookies into ice cream. Spread over crust.

    Freeze until frm, about 4 hours.

    To ready or serving, tint whipped topping with greenood coloring to desired shade o green; spread or pipe

    into wreath design on top o cake.

    Decorate with red gel icing, cinnamon candies and

    colored sugar. Remove rim o pan just beore serving.

    Store in reezer.

    12 oz. Fat-Free Blueberry Yogurt1/2 cup Fat-Free Milk1 tbsp. Unsalted, Natural Almond Butter1 tbsp. Honey

    Preparation: In a blender, add rozenraspberries, yogurt, milk, almond butter

    and honey. Cover and puree until smooth.Pour into two tall glasses and serve.

    Mascot MadnessIngredients:2 cups Frozen Peaches, sliced2/3 cup Fat-Free Milk12 oz. Lowat Vanilla Yogurt*1 oz. Plain Instant Oatmeal, prepared

    with water and rerigerated**2 packets Sugar Substitute1/4 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract

    Preparation: In a blender, combine rozenpeaches, milk, yogurt, chilled oatmeal, sugarsubstitute and vanilla extract. Cover and pureeuntil smooth. Pour into two tall glasses and serve.

    *I blender has less than a 5-cup capacity, makethe smoothie without yogurt. Pour smoothie into a

    large pitcher and stir in yogurt.

    Caramel Apple ShakeIngredients:1 Jell-O Creamy Caramel Pudding Snack1/2 cup Apple Cider (plain, not sparkling)1/4 cup reeze-dried apple pieces1/4 cup Low-at Vanilla Ice Cream1/4 tsp. Cinnamon1/8 tsp. Vanilla Extract1 cup crushed Ice (or 5 - 8 Ice Cubes)2 tbsp. Reddi -wip

    Preparation: Place all ingredients except orReddi-wip into a blender. Blend until smooth,and then pour into a nice tall glass. Top withReddi-wip, stick a straw in it, and enjoy!

    Perfect Pumpkin PieIngredients:1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin1 (14 oz.) can Sweetened Condensed Milk2 large eggs1 tsp. ground cinnamon1/2 tsp. ground ginger1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg1/2 tsp. salt1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust

    Preparation: Preheat oven to 425. Whiskpumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs,spices and salt in medium bowl until smooth.

    Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oventemperature to 350 and continue baking 35to 40 minutes or until knie inserted 1 inchrom crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish asdesired. Store letovers covered in rerigerator. 16

    Lights & Cords: Holiday lights mean extra electrical cords which can presentquite tempting chew toys. Take an extra minute to tape down or cover cords.

    Christmas Tree: Use a stable tree stand. Avoid using preservatives in the waterwhich can cause upset stomachs. Keep tempting tinsel & decorations high up on the tree.

    Quiet Place to Retreat: During holiday parties, pets may not understand why theirusually quiet home is flled with people and noise. Provide pets with a quiet place to relax.

    No Feasting: Pets dont have the same digestive system as us. Try to avoid givingthem tasty human treats and chocolate, which can be toxic to pets.

    Holiday Plants: Keep the holly, mistletoe and poinsettia away rom pets(and small children) as they are poisonous!

    Holiday HazardsAlcohol:Alcohol poisoning is a common risk or children

    during the holiday season. Many amilies host

    parties where alcohol is served.

    Children imitate adults, and may drink the

    beverages they see adults drinking.

    Remove ALL empty and partially empty

    cups as soon as possible.

    Children become drunk much more

    quickly than adults, so even a small amount

    o alcohol can be dangerous to them.

    Symptoms will resemble drunkenness and

    may include difculty breathing, extreme

    drowsiness, difculty walking, nausea and

    Snow sprays may be harmul i the aerosolpropellants are used improperly.

    Angel Hair (made rom fnely spun glass) andornament hangers may cause cuts or irritation.

    Tree ornaments, icicles and tinsel may blockthe airway or cause choking.

    Other: Antireeze (ethylene glycol or methanol)

    is extremely poisonous and may result indeath i ingested, even in small amounts.

    Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorlessgas produced in fres, rom car exhaust

    systems, aulty home heating systems andcharcoal grills. Carbon monoxide poisoningis especially dangerous because it may occurwhile sleeping, and result in death. Earlysymptoms o poisoning are headache anddizziness. Recommend resh air and medicalattention i symptoms occur.

    Disc batteries or cameras, toys, calculatorsand hearing aids are small enough to beswallowed and in some cases can breakopen and cause poisoning. These and othersmall items are also a choking hazard.

    Drunk driving is one o the deadliest crimes.Every single injury and death caused by drunkdrivers is totally preventable. Unortunately,

    drunk drivers caused over 30% o all trafcatalities in Florida last year. We need to beespecially aware during the holidays because

    statistics show that the number o incidentsincreases during these times.

    What are the consequences o a DUI or DWIconviction? According to Florida Statute

    316.193, the penalties vary by the oenders

    level o Blood Alcohol Contentor Breath Alcohol Content(BAC) and the number oprevious convictions.For example, orthe frst convictionwith a BAC o .08,

    one would receivea fne between$250 and $500 andbe imprisoned or amaximum o six months. Thefnes and terms o imprisonmentincrease with subsequent occurrences.

    There are also additional punishments suchas extra ees, increased insurance premiums,

    license revocation or at least 180 days,completion o an approved substance abuseeducation course, and impoundment ovehicles owned by the oender.

    How To Spot A Drunk Driver:These warning signs should be your signal to

    take down a license plate number and vehicledescription to report to the proper authorities.Do not attempt to stop the vehicle.

    Wide turns Straddling lanes or driving on the center line

    Driting or moving in a straight line at a slightangle to the roadway

    Driving with headlights o at night

    Appearing to be drunk (eye fxation,ace close to windshield,

    drinking in the vehicle)

    Driving below thespeed limit

    Erratic brakingor stoppingwithout cause

    Slow response to trafcsignals (sudden stop,

    delay start)

    Nearly striking an object, curb, etc.

    Report drunk drivers immediately to arealaw enorcement rom a car phone or payphone with the license plate number,description o the vehicle and the directionin which it was traveling.
