The Chosen Path by Rabbi Binyamin Sendler

With a shortage of good “historia” ma-terials, this book is a very welcome addition. The Chosen Path is a history of medieval Jewry, designed for upper-high-school level classrooms. Its focus on primary sources invites the student to consider the various communities,

their differences and similarities, within the context of their times. The Torah leaders of those Jews, their challenges and their triumphs, are highlighted in this scholarly volume. There is also a teacher's companion available. Recommended for Junior High – High School levels. Ideal for teaching Jewish history as part of an overall, integrated history program. The work has the approbation of Harav Shmuel Irons, shlita, Rosh Kollel in Detroit.

The Flow of Generations by Rabbi Shmuel Yaakov Klein A Torah Umesorah Publication

This user-friendly booklet is perfectly suited for a cursory single-(or possible double-) year course in one of the most challenging subject areas for most rebbeim and moros – Jewish history. It provides all the major highlights of toldos am Yisroel from the birth of Avrohom

Avinu until the years following the Holocaust. Clear and in concise point form, the nicely illustrated book divides the time line into eleven chapters, each having research assignments and questions for discussion. There are also review chapters. Mostly English, 90 pages, recommended for Grade 6-9.

Monsieur Your may have already shown the latest DVD production by TU’s Zechor Yemos Olam. If not, you will want to present it to your talmi-dim/os at some other occasion. The title is “Monsieur,” which refers to Rav Yonah Tiefenbrunner, z”l. “An inspiring story of courage, mesiras nefesh and kiddush Hashem.” Monsieur traces, via a combi-nation of real footage, interviews and a bit of dramatization, the captivating story of how Rav Tiefenbrunner risked his life repeatedly to care for the yesomim for whom he took charge. His venue was an orphanage he established in Belgium during the years of the War. The account traces the grave dangers facing both the children and their benefactor… as well as a number of sudden relocations that the orphanage was forced to undertake in order to keep from dan-ger’s path. Indeed this was a goal only narrowly achieved on more than one occasion. 48-minutes. Presentation includes commentary by Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Lieff, Rov of Agudas Yisroel Bais Binyomin in Brooklyn.
