Shelby’s Book ClubMy favorite past time is getting lost in a great book. I love the classics, the mystery novels, educational books, you name it—I love it. I would like to start a book club at The Barrington. We will meet the first and third Monday of each month at 10:00 am in the library. Our first club meeting will be on June 2nd. I hope to see several of my fellow book enthusiasts at our first Shelby’s Book Club meeting! “The love of learning, the sequestered nooks, and all the sweet serenity of books” —Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Jewelry, Trinkets and Treasures saleOn Wednesday, June 18th please join us for Jewelry, Trinkets and Treasures sale! Starting at 11:30 am in the lobby, we will have a beautiful display of jewelry trinkets and treasures and an amazing assortment of bangle bracelets, necklaces and earrings for you to browse through. This is a vender new to The Barrington and will have a large selection of inexpensive treasures.

Safe Driving ClassAAA will be teaching a Safe Driving Class here at The Barrington. This is a 6-hour class broken down into 2 sessions on Wednesday, June 25th and Thurs, June 26th from 1 - 4pm in the Library with refreshments provided. This is an opportunity for residents who wish to lower their car insurance (residents must check with current insurance provider to verify credit). Be sure to sign-up for the class. The cost of this class is $15 and all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Picnic Out!When is the last time you went on a Picnic? If you have missed one of ours, you have missed a great time! We go to one of our beautiful parks, have a great meal under a covered shelter, enjoy the awesome outdoors and the best part is that it is FREE! All you have to do is go along, all you have to bring is your appetite, and all you have to expect is to have lots of fun! We will meet in the lobby on Wednesday, June 25th at 11:00 am and head off to the park. Mark your calendar and invite your neighbor to join you in this fun filled day.

Repair ClinicEveryone has been waiting on this one! Mark your calendar now for Wednesday, June 11th at 10:00 am in the Library for a wheelchair, walker and scooter repair clinic. We will have Johnny, an independent contractor here to fix up your ride. He will repair all walkers, wheelchairs or electric scooters. Please sign up to reserve your spot today!

1st Friday DonutsDon’t forget every first Friday starting at 8:00 am we have fresh, delicious, Dunkin Donuts and hot coffee. We meet in the Gathering Place and stay till they are all gone. This month we will meet on Friday, June 6th and Jenny from Health South will be our sponsor. This is definitely one of my favorite events, Come on down and enjoy your favorite donut!

Birthday BashHey, hey, it’s your birthday, and you’re the guest of honor! We’d like to celebrate you with a toast and warm wishes. All are welcome, but if you’re celebrating a birthday this month, you are definitely invited! This is a great time to get out, enjoy music, and fellowship. So mark your calendar and plan to join us on the third Wednesday of the month. We will see you in the Gathering Place at 3:00 pm on June 18th!

The Not So Newly Wed GameYou are in for a crazy good time on Thursday, June 19th at 6:00 pm! The Barrington will host the Not So Newly Wed Game! Plan now to bring a friend as we experience the crazy game show of by gone days. We will be choosing couples to participate for this sure to be hilarious event. We will meet in the Gathering Place for drinks, snacks and lots of laughter! Be sure to invite your neighbor, family and friends!

Lunch and Boat Ride!Last year we took a boat ride out of Tarpon Springs, and everyone loved it! We had a blast! I am sure that this year will be a fun time too! On Tuesday the 10th of June at 10:00 am, we will board the bus and depart for Tarpon Springs. Upon arrival, we will stop for lunch and then take a cruise out of scenic Tarpon Springs. The boat is Handicap accessible, has restrooms and you may

purchase drinks or snacks. You will need $15 for the boat trip

plus lunch. We will have a little time to shop on the

sponge docks. Be sure to invite a friend and

sign up early to save a spot!
