Let the Parish Council Help You Build Your Domestic Church!!!
Each year our parish council meets to plan for the upcoming year. Over the past two years, we have focused on being Dynamic Catholics. We began with becoming a more prayerful parish and this certainly has been accomplished because our parish bas grown. Just this summer we had 36 new families join the church of which a large portion came from the members who joined us from RCIA classes. Now it is our job to pro-vide you with the STUDY area of the 4 Dynamic Catholic areas. The Catholic religion is so beautiful and provides us with so many graces; however, as adults, we tend to shy away from discussing and evangelizing our religion because we do not know what we are talking about. What better way to help you know your faith better than give you these tools in small amounts each week. Even if it is information you already know, it is always good to get a refresher. Every family in this parish will be given a binder to keep this information in. You will also be given Holy cards to pray with your family. There will be an insert in the bulleting each week with a family prayer, information on saints, a small bit of Catechism and a weekly spiritual goal for your family. Every family comes in different shapes and sizes and is considered a domestic church,. God has entrusted you with strengthening your soul to be with Him in Heaven. Don’t put this off! Start today! You alone will be judged on how well you educated your children about Him and how He wants us to live—not Catholic school teachers or PSR teachers, but you as PARENTS. Building a strong, faith-filled Catholic family is a very hard challenge in today’s tough world. The world goes against how God wants us to live. It is our job to put forth a conscious, concerted effort into creating this type of family or domestic church that is nurturing, encouraging and loving. Your domestic church should be founded on the sac-raments of baptism, reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation, but it requires constant maintenance and updating. Please take advantage of the wonderful materials we will be providing for you over the next year! They will be located on the Domestic Church table in the gathering space each week. If you sit on the sides, please don’t slip out the side doors without picking up your materials—-isn’t your soul worth it! For today, all binders can be picked up form the tables outside the front of the church—Please stop by! Remember what Pope Francis said about the devil. He hates the family because the family is LOVE. Love is most powerful and God is love. So, let us love one another; the success of your domestic church depends on it. For it is the first and greatest commandment. Thank you so much for your time and may all our families become all that God intends them to be! Elizabeth Williams, Parish Council President

The Gospel
for this Sunday is
Luke 13: 22-30
Evangelization
Jesus passed through
towns and villages, teaching as he went and making his way
to Jerusalem. Someone asked him,
“Lord, will only a few people be saved?” He answered them,
“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter
but will not be strong enough. After the master of the house has arisen
and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and
saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’
He will say to you in reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.
And you will say, ‘We ate and drank in your company and
you taught in our streets.’ Then he will say to you,
‘I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers!’
And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth
when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of
God and you yourselves cast out.
And people will come from the east and the west
and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the kingdom of
God. For behold, some are last who will be first,
and some are first who will be last.”
