The Koran considers Jesus to be like one of the prophets like, Moses, whose message would ultimatelypave the way for the coming of Mohammed. However, the Koran attributes to Jesus some very unique

characteristics which are never applied to any of the other prophets, including Mohammed himself. If you

ask a Muslim, Can you apply to Mohammed the characteristics of Jesus as clearly mentioned in the Koran?

He shall have no reply. But the answer is NO. WHY?

Jesus in the Koran has the following peculiarities:

    1. He has the power to create (3:59).2. He can give life to the dead (3:49).3. He can revive the sick- even those with hopeless, incurable illnesses (3:49).4. He is sinless and blessed (19:19-21, 30).5. He is eternally living after His death and ascension (3:55).6. He knows what is hidden inside the heart and indoors (3:49).7. He knows the date of Judgement Day (43:57, 61) and will come again at the end of time as a Just

    Judge.

1 JESUS HAS THE POWER TO CREATE

In both the Bible and the Koran, the ability to create new life is a divine attribute. It is a trait that is

attributed only to God, the Creator. No man, angel, or beast could ever rightly be called a creator in that

sense. They are the created. God alone is the Creator of all things. However, the Koran claims that Jesus

could create a living creature from the dust of the ground. Wait wasnt Adam the first man brought forth

by God Almighty, created from the dust of the ground? Yes! So it seems Jesus can create in the same

manner that God creates. Remember, though, God alone is the Creator. Are you confused?

The all powerful, transcendent God never ascribes any of His own attributes to anyone, and He surely

does not compromise His position of authority as the sole Creator. Of His many special unique offices, creation is one of the most exclusive.

Muslims believe that Jesus was only a man. Therefore, for any Muslim to say that Jesus can function

in the office as a creator is for them to speak delusion, even if they say Jesus had Gods permission to

create. God would never allow a man to function in His position as Creator. Thats like saying God would

allow a man to be God!

If God permitted Jesus to create a bird and theKoran says He did then that bird could not call

God its God. Jesus would be its God. Thus, the bird would be responsible to obey the laws of its creator

(Jesus), and it would not be directly obligated to the laws of Almighty God. God, in this case, would not be

the God of every living creature, and therefore, by definition, He could no longer be called theone true

God! So no matter how they try to explain it, if God permitted Jesus to create a bird, or any other form of

life, then God would be handing over His title as sole Creator. God would be the Creator of all things,

except that bird. And the word except disqualifies God from His loftytitle The Creator of all things.

It makes no sense for God to allow any prophet to share such divine attributes with Him unless the

prophet is to take on a divine title. Nevertheless, the Koran shows that Jesus labelled as a mere man can

take mud from the ground, create the form of a bird, blow on it, and then the mud will become a true living

bird.No matter what anyone says, this koranic example clearly shows that Jesus is not within the scope of

us, human beings. He is far beyond mankind. He is rightly called omnipotent in comparison to man, for no

man could do such a miracle. Besides, God would never allow a mere man to be known as a creator. God

alone is the sole creator and Jesus shares in that divinity.

2 JESUS CAN GIVE LIFE TO THE DEAD

In addition to His divine ability to create new life, Jesus, according to the Koran can also give life tothe dead. Yes, this is a koranic fact. Jesus is the only prophet among the 28 prophets mentioned in the

Koran that is said to have the power to raise the dead. He can challenge death! He can free the dead from

the darkness of the tomb. Yes, He can raise a dead man out from the cold soil to live again among his

relatives and friends on this earth. No prophet in the in the Koran had such miraculous power, not even

    Mohammed.

Ask a Muslim why Jesus is so unique in this way. Ask him how Jesus gained such omnipotence. He

would say something like this: God permitted Jesus to have that power. Okay. Just agree with him for a

moment, and then ask him the next question: Why didnt God permit the other prophets, especiallyMohammed, to have that same power? To this, he shall have no answer.

Present to a Muslim the following scenario: Mohammed and Jesus appear together in this present

time, and begin walking down the street. While they are walking, they meet a small group of mourners who

are carrying a dead relative in a casket. Now, which of the two Mohammed or Jesus, would be able to

miraculously bring the corpse back to life? Which prophet could turn frowns to smiles and crying to

laughter by restoring life to the dead? Mohammed or Jesus? According to the Koran, only Jesus could do

such a wonderful feat! Of course, the Bible agrees with this truth since Jesus is known as The Life in the

    Gospels.

3 JESUS CAN CURE THE SICK, EVEN THE HOPELESSLY ILL

The Koran records that Jesus can raise the dead, and more than that, He can also cure the partially

dead. One word from Jesus can restore sight to the blind. Incredible! By mans methods, when the nerve

responsible for vision (the optic nerve) is damaged, no single drug, device or operation can regenerate it

again. Yet one word from Jesus mouth can open the blind eye and motivate the optic nerve to convey

impulses again. It can reopen the hearing channels and make the deaf to hear again, restore the paralysedlimb that it may walk again. Remember, these truths are being cited from the Koran.

It is not that Jesus was being permitted to do one miracle here, and one there. He just naturally had

ability to perform such miracles because of who He was. The true value of these examples thus proves the

    Almighty nature of Jesus.

4 JESUS IS SINLESS AND ALWAYS BLESSED

The Koran describes Jesus as sinless. In contrast, it mentions the sins of every other prophet. Jesusalone is called sinless, and He is said to be blessed at all times, in all places. Mohammeds character is

described in the Koran too. He was so sinful. His tiny thread of hope was that God may forgive his many,

many sins. God did promise to forgive him, but how contrary to the person of Jesus!

In light of all this, keep in mind that infallibility (sinlessness) is a divine characteristic in the Koran.

Here again, the Koran attributes Godlikeness to Jesus.

5 JESUS IS STILL LIVING, WHILE ALL OTHER PROPHETS ARE DEAD

The Koran tells us that Jesus is still living, and that he lives eternally. Muslims believe Jesus did not

die on the cross, but that He ascended bodily into Heaven. So when it says He is living, it does not mean life

in the spiritual sense, but in the material (bodily) sense also. All other prophets are dead and buried

somewhere. Every one has suffered the necrosis of death. Indeed, Muslims know where the bones of dead

Mohammed lay. The only eternally living prophet mentioned in the Koran is JESUS!

6 JESUS KNOWS WHAT IS HIDDEN

The koranic text ascribes a very unique property to Jesus, a trait not given to any of the otherprophets, including Mohammed. We are told that Jesus knows what is hidden inside your heart and inside

your home. This is rather astounding, for the Koran also teaches that such an ability is not available to any

man, but to God alone. Knowing and perceiving the unseen is a divine ability. And the Koran says Jesus

    has this ability.

7 JESUS KNOWS THE DATE OF JUDGMENT DAY, AND HE WILL COME AT THE END OF TIME

    AS A JUST JUDGE

Islam teaches that Jesus knows the precise hour of Judgment Day, and that He shall come at the end

of time as a Just Judge. The Koran tells us these things, despite the fact that the knowledge of this future

time is only known by God, and that God alone is the end-time Judge. This contradiction hits a very critical

spot in Islamic teaching. Trying to overcome the second stumbling block, Muslim scholars have modified it

to say Jesus will come to judge His followers only. That is to say, He will come to condemn them since they

believed the story of the cross and not Mohammed. This is a feeble attempt to escape the embarrassment,

but it doesnt do away with the contradiction in teachings. For even in this case, it is Jesus, and not God

who shall be the judge over many millions of souls.

    CONCLUSION

The koranic Jesus is one with many divine characteristics. He embodies traits that only God is

supposed to have. The koranic Jesus is unique. No other prophet, not even Mohammed himself, the author

of the Koran was near to Jesus in position, power, or authority.

It is therefore impossible for Jesus to have these divine attributes and not be divine. We all agree thatHe is alive and still in action saving man from sin and oppression by His infinite power.

Christians are labelled as infidels for believing in the deity of Christ. But the Koran itself proves to

us that Jesus is divine. The main problem came with the false understanding of the word trinity that is

being used by Christians. Muslim scholars wrongly assert that Christians believe in three separate Gods

consisting of God, Jesus and Mary. This came about as a result of Mohammeds wrong knowledge on

Christian theology. But no Christian ever said he believes in three Gods. Christians believe in one God who

manifests Himself in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We worship one God, for Jesus Himself

said, I and My Father are one.We all need salvation. Jesus fulfils all the conditions as the only Saviour. His power, sinlessness, and

sacrifice to save the world means we dont have time to be arguing on issues that are so clear for all to see.

The Koran describes Jesus divinity so well that Muslims need to call on His name to be saved and go to

heaven. If you are a Muslim, or any other person that would want to receive Gods forgiveness right away,

you need to pray and ask God to forgive you of all your sins based on Jesus righteousness, not yours. You

need to pray and say something like this, Merciful God, I plead that you forgive all my sins because of the

sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for me. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is my Saviour, and I invite Him to

come into me life and lead me to serve God all the rest of my life. Thank You for saving me. I pray in theblessed name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Jesus the centre of your life. Live for Him and serve Him daily. Read the holy Bible on a daily

basis and God shall be with you and speak to you. Be strong in your faith. Amen.
