What are you relying on for salvation?

A response in a meeting?Baptism?

Church attendance?Living a holy life?

Reading the Bible?Praying a lot?

Correct theological understanding?Doing enough good things?

A religious/spiritual experience?

What are you relying on for salvation?

Rely on JESUS!

False teaching in the church:

Judaizers:

“Unless you become a Jew you won’t be saved”

Circumcision for men

Old Testament ceremonial rules

False teaching in the church:

Judaizers - some problems: •Not even the Jews were able to keep the law•It denied the truth of what Jesus achieved for us•Faith in Jesus alone was not enough for them

False teaching in the church:

Gnostics:

“The physical world is evil; the spiritual world is good”

Harsh rules and restrictions

Unlimited immorality

False teaching in the church:

Judaizers - some problems: •Not even the Jews had kept the law•It denied the truth of what Jesus achieved for us•Faith in Jesus alone was not enough for them

Jesus Centred Salvation:

Don’t rely on the traditions or principles of this world

Don’t rely on ‘following the rules’

Don’t rely on ‘spiritual experiences’

DO RELY ON JESUSWe need a Jesus Centred Salvation - nothing else will do!
