Opening Prayer

Is. 55:1-3a, 6

ll you who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money,

come, buy grain and eat; Come, buy grain without money, wine and milk without cost! Why spend your money for what is not bread; your wages for what does not satisfy? Only listen to me, and you shall eat well, you shall delight in rich fare. Pay attention and come to me; listen, that you may have life. Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near.

Psalm 63: 2-9

God, you are my God it is you I seek! For you my body yearns;

for you my soul thirsts, In a land parched, lifeless, and without water. I look to you in the sanctuary to see your power and glory. For your love is better than life; my lips shall ever praise you! I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands, calling on your name.

My soul shall be sated as with choice food, with joyous lips my mouth shall praise you! I think of you upon my bed, I remember you through the watches of the night You indeed are my savior, and in the shadow of your wings I shout for joy. My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me.

Gospel: Jn.4:4-10

pedido a El, y El te hubiera dado agua viva.

Prayer: Let us recognize our thirst for You, Lord, our yearning for

deeper relationship with You. You assure us “Whoever drinks the

water I give will never be thirsty again.” And so we come to You in

prayer for and with each other.

Let us recognize the water You give us, the fountain within washing

us so hospitably in hope and healing. Form our hearts to be vessels

of welcome, of hope and of reconciliation and healing for ourselves

and all Your people.

Let us recognize You leaping within to provide living water to all

whom we encounter. Teach us to cooperate with You, as Your

disciples, in joyously sharing this Good News with others.

Send forth Your Spirit, and we shall be recreated, as You renew the

face of the earth. Amen.

Closing Prayer:

Jesus you prayed for us--

“I pray for those who will believe in me through their word,

That all may be one as you, Father, are in me, and I in you;

I pray that they may be one in us, that the world may believe

that you sent me.

I have given them the glory you gave me that they may be

one as we are one—

I living in them, you living in me that their unity may be

complete.

So shall the world know that you sent me,

And that you loved them as you loved me.”

May we live the prayer you prayed for us. Amen.

Psalm 139 vs 1-12, 23-24

ORD, you have probed me, you know me: you know when I sit and stand; you understand my thoughts from afar.

You sift through my travels and my rest; with all my ways you are familiar.

Even before a word is on my tongue, LORD, you know it all.

Behind and before you encircle me and rest your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, far too lofty for me to reach.

Where can I go from your spirit? From your presence, where can I flee?

If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I lie down in Sheol, there you are.

If I take the wings of dawn and dwell beyond the sea,

Even there your hand guides me, your right hand holds me fast.

If I say, “Surely darkness shall hide me, and night shall be my light”

Darkness is not dark for you, and night shines as the day.

Darkness and light are but one. Probe me, God, know my heart; try me, know my thoughts.

See if there is a wicked path in me; lead me along an ancient path.

Gospel: John 4:15-19

Jesús le dijo: Bien has

Isaiah: 55: 10-12

et just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down And do not return there

till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, Giving seed to the one who sows and bread to the one who eats,

So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me empty, but shall do what pleases me, achieving the end for which I sent it.

Yes, in joy you shall go forth, in peace you shall be brought home;

Mountains and hills shall break out in song before you, all trees of the field shall clap their hands. Psalm 65: 2, 10-14

o you we owe our hymn of praise, O God on Zion; To you our vows must be fulfilled,

You visit the earth and water it, make it abundantly fertile. God’s stream is filled with water; you supply their grain. Thus do you prepare it: you drench its plowed furrows, and level its ridges. With showers you keep it soft, blessing its young sprouts. You adorn the year with your bounty; your paths drip with fruitful rain.

The meadows of the wilderness also drip; the hills are robed with joy. The pastures are clothed with flocks, the valleys blanketed with grain; they cheer and sing for joy. Closing Ritual

Is. 12: 1-6

n that day, you will say: I give you thanks, O LORD; though you have been angry with me,

your anger has abated, and you have consoled me. God indeed is my salvation; I am confident and unafraid. For the LORD is my strength and my might, and he has been my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the fountains of salvation, And you will say on that day: give thanks to the LORD, acclaim his name; Among the nations make known his deeds, proclaim how exalted is his name. Sing praise to the LORD for he has done glorious things; let this be known throughout all the earth. Shout with exultation, City of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel!
