To Whom It May Concern,
I am a young, ambitious, Computer Science graduate of Durham Technical Community College,
where I double-majored in Networking Technologies and Information Systems Security. I
consider myself a student for life, and never stop seeking knowledge to improve my abilities. I
am now co-currently studying for my NET+, SEC+, and Linux+ certifications (which my DTCC
curricula prepared me for), and plan to have them by the end of 2015. I am very passionate
about technology and have a wide range of skill-sets. I am confident that with my technical
prowess and ability, coupled with my hard work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills and a
creative/adaptable mindset – that I would be an asset to your organization.
Following are some of my qualifications and areas of expertise that I particularly excel in and am
passionate about:
Proficient in designing, administrating, and troubleshooting Ethernet/IP networks. Ability
to identify security needs/requirements and tools to ensure their implementation, while
also accurately planning for future growth and maintaining security standards
Extensive experience working with Cisco IOS CLI, designing and troubleshooting
switched LAN networks, VLAN design, WAN/WLAN and VPN technologies,
configuration of layer2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, and other network
appliances/systems
Broad understanding of virtualization technology with innovative ideas to overcome
challenges, always striving for better efficiency and performance (particularly proficient
with VMware products and software). I am enthusiastic towards learning about new
software and beta test whenever possible (currently evaluating the VMware NSX
platform in my spare time)
Ability to implement and maintain a Windows/Active Directory network environment
Designing and administrating Linux/UNIX/Windows production servers
Ability and desire to learn new software/tools/tecchnologies quickly and efficiently -
strong initiative
Always on top of new and cutting-edge technologies and software –always looking for
ways to improve performance/efficiency
-See attached resume for extensive details concerning my IT qualifications, skills and
accomplishments-

Accomplishments/Projects
Graduated with “Cum Laude” Honors from DTCC GPA: 3.25
As part of my Capstone Project at DTCC, I helped co-design and further implement a solution
for Durham Tech's IT students and staff – the Cloud Computing Lab. The Cloud Computing Lab
(CCL) is a cloud-based solution -with funding by the National Science Foundation- that lets IT
students access assigned work via virtual labs/virtual machines using a NETLAB front-end,
that’s usable on any Java enabled web browser -from anywhere. Before this was initially
implemented, a lot of IT course work -and the creation/maintenance of that coursework- was
only possible to do by physically using systems in the campus lab. This has obvious
disadvantages to both students and the school. To improve upon and mitigate the costs of this
environment to Durham Tech, my team(s) helped further develop a sub-system that offloads
storage and hosting of these virtual labs/VM configurations to in-house, Durham Tech owned
hardware. Specifically, I developed a Linux production server that accomplished some of the
fundamental facets of the environment such as; DHCP, DNS, Apache2 server to host the ESXi
installation images/files, the TFTP infrastructure responsible for pushing out said ESXi files to
host machines, and writing PXE/SYSLINUX configuration scripts that allow this entire process
to be both automated and diskless (storage is offloaded to a NAS system). This also allows the
entire process to be initialized with the host machines powered off; as Wake-On-LAN
technology is utilized using a script pushed out from the server. Link to project is below.
