Jelly Roll Inspirations Part Three: Diagonals

This e‐book was put together as a thank you to our many customers and friends who are on the emailing list for our store at http://jellyrollfabric.net. It is not 

intended as an ad, and as such, you will not find advertising on every page! That being said, in cases where photos have used fabrics carried in our store, or at the time of this writing we carry something very similar, we will put a short link to that product, meant as a convenience to those who wish to create something 

similar.         

For this e‐book we collected all the photos using jelly roll strips that end up diagonal! There are a few different techniques for this. April R. explained it so well, I’m going to borrow her words: “sew 4 together, cut into squares as wide as they are high, [put two squares together] sew all the way around right sides together and cut corner to corner. 

Great way to get fun squares.”  

The other technique involves creating a tube and cutting triangles, which when opened up, form squares made of diagonally pieced strips! It’s like magic. I will create a tutorial for 

both in the next few weeks – in the meantime, enjoy this gallery of lovely quilts!

    One fun thing about this design is you’ll get an entirely different effect depending on where you place your colors, if you use sashing, etc. Love the sashing, Kathy!

      Fabulous colors, adorable little girl! And a great example of how jelly rolls are awesome for making triangles!           

Judy E. added some triangles to make this a work of art!

     Fabulous!! I keep thinking at some point I will stop being impressed by the quilt pictures I’ve received. NOPE! I just love the fabrics, the placement, everything!

   We have a lovely pink/green blender jelly roll with 20 different fabrics available now!         

#2: Blues  (Mixed blue blenders (20 fabrics) are also in the store now!)  

  #3 Purples & Greens (I recognize a lilac roll in this one!)  

  

I fear Audrey is becoming a living ad for our store! Everyone loved the lilac combo so much it’s a regularly available purple/green blender roll in our store now!

   I just adore the calming colors!      And finally, last but not least… and I think my favorite of Audrey’s quilts… (no wait, the purples and greens! I can’t choose.)

I love these quilts so much, and it is super exciting for me to see many of our fabrics in action! Gorgeous. We’ve got a 20‐fabric orange blender in stock right now too!  

Kathy M. writes: “Here is a picture  of a quilt I made for my daughter as a housewarming gift for her very first home. We both love polka dots, and loved these colors. The pattern was easy and fun to do. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.”  I too am please with how it turned out! :D I just love these colors (and I think I remember those dotty fabrics!)
