Rosen Sapperstein & Friedlander (RS&F) is an accounting firm based in Owings Mills, Maryland. They offer their clients strategic planning for growth and success while adhering to strict values of integrity, ethics, quality, timeliness and accessibility. All of these values on which the firm was founded on are the same values found in RS&F director Jeffrey Rosen, CPA, CGMA, MBA.

Rosen is a 40 Under 40 nominee because of how influential an individual he is both in the accounting world and in the community at large. He has spent the past 17 years in financing and in his six years of working for RS&F, he has helped develop the company into a full-service firm that offers nothing but world-class business consulting.

At RS&F, Rosen wears many different hats. He chairs RS&F’s business development and firm initiatives committees, manages the Firm’s strategic, IT, and marketing initiatives, and has oversight for various aspects of the firms’ operations. Recently, he has been busy updating a lot of systems and processes where they need to be, including HR processes and procedures, to make for better time management and putting the best practices in place for the firm to continue its growth.

Before joining the RS&F team in 2009, Rosen spent the previous three year as a Development Associate for The Shelter Group, a national owner, developer and manager of multifamily and senior living communities. In this role, he generated, evaluated and managed opportunities for new multifamily and for-sale developments.

Rosen attended the University of Maryland where he earned his BA in Finance and Accounting in 1998 from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He later came back to Maryland to obtain his MBA with a concentration on finance. Before then, Rosen served as a financial analyst for GE Capital and Director of Operations for Sphere Software Corporation, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

When asked who his greatest role model was, Rosen answered with his father, Howard. “He taught me to always look at the big picture, never take yourself too seriously and, most importantly, to always be in a position where I can give back to others.” Along with his evident professional success, Rosen does a lot of community outreach work as his way to give back to the community.

He currently serves on a number of board and committees for a variety of non-profit organizations, including Towson University, Maryland Council on Economic Education, The Center Club, The Associated: Jewish Community Federation Real Estate Industry Group, and the Woodholme Country Club.

Most notably, Rosen is involved with Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. (CHAI). CHAI is a non-profit organization committed to equal housing opportunity by providing services such as developing affordable senior living housing and providing housing counseling and loans to assist in the purchase and upgrade of homes.

Serving on the board the past 12 years, he is currently on the Executive Committee and the House Management Committee. Rosen also serves as the First Vice President and Chairperson for the

Homeownership & Loan Committee. In years past he was also Treasurer, and Chairperson for both the House Planning Committee and the Board Development Committee.

Rosen’s ability to help the community both as an accountant and as a human being make him an excellent representative for this year’s 40 Under 40 class.
