During the spring of 2018 the Le Roy Christian Church in response to some consulting work done by the Unstuck Group, unleashed a community wide initiative - . We started with mis- sion and vision statements and a 6-week vision roll-out series to unpack the impact. We wanted to be more than a church that just opens up its doors on Sunday mornings. We desired to not just pla- cate the preferences of our members, but to reach into our community and let Jesus draw the lost in. We pledged to not only welcome them, but to point them to Christ and encourage their families in the Lord. We know the amazing blessings God showers down onto His people and we dont want an- yone to miss out. Our goal was to become a truly irresistible church; not because of us, but because of Him. We discovered that history records famous people made an impact through the centuries, but none as influential as the impact Jesus made. He changed the entire planet and the world has never been the same since. He also encouraged us to be his ambassadors in the world today. We learned and discussed why we should be intentional in our quest to make an impact. We saw how meaningful our impact could be if we stayed culturally relevant. We challenged each other to be present for neighbors, guests and colleagues. We encouraged all of us to be available to meet the needs of those around us and to spend quality time with them. We want our focus to help connect people to Jesus! And we understand to transform into the likeness of Christ is our goal and to point others to Him so they can experience transformation too! Intentional + Meaningful + Present + Available + Connect + Transform = ! That may sound good. It may look good on paper. You may have even been in attendance when one or more of those parts of the vision were discussed. Some immediately took it to heart and began looking for ways to make an impact. Others waited and jumped on board when our church did pro- jects to make an impact. However, several of us never got out of the starting gate. We think we agreed with the premise, but just never did anything about it. Wed like to see that change in 2019-20. Wed like to see all of LCC change this year. Wasnt trans- form one of the parts of the vision? Our intent [wasnt intentional the first step in the vision?] this year is to help you personalize the vision. Our goal is to make the your personal mission, not just your mission statement. Our dream and prayer is that you get so inspired you are impacting the 61752 on a regular basis not waiting to see what LCC does next! One of the best ways to gear up for making an impact is by getting in a small group. Call the church today & sign-up for a group! God bless you as you strive to make an IMPACT for Him in the 61752! Whoa! I can’t believe it’s almost October! When I talk to 8th graders about making the transition into high school, I almost always tell them “time will seem to go faster.” It’s true and I haven’t hit a stage in life yet where it seems to get any better. It just keeps getting faster. I have a daily reminder of how quickly time flies when I get my kids out of bed and see how much they seem to have grown overnight. The school year is clicking by and even some sports seasons are starting into their final halves. The Children’s Minis-tries and Youth Ministries are off to good starts with good things coming up on the hori-zon. As we get ready for fall events and trips, I’d appreciate your prayers as many of those who attend these will people from our community. We’ll likely see some of them for the first time since VBS, so hopefully we’ll be able to make some lasting impression on our guests that will help them make a decision to join us a little more regularly. Hope-fully, your family is settling into the fall season nicely. I’d encourage you to make a point to join us for our Fall Harvest Party or talk to me about making a trip to KC this fall. Whatever your plans are for the fall, I hope you’ll join us for the activities we have going on throughout the week. Enjoy these cooler moments. They’ll pass by quickly.

It’s a busy time around here! I’m heading to Colorado for a youth minister’s retreat first week of October. On Oct. 11th, there’s a group heading for Chi-town for the Orange Tour. If you’re a Small Group Leader, serve in Children’s Church or Wee Worship, and would like to attend with us, contact me ASAP!! It’s a great day! Cornerstone Christian Academy hosts the Christian College Fair on Monday, October 21st. Most of the region’s Christian colleges and universities will be represented. If your teen is interested in going, please let me know. 7th and 8th graders…the Forge is for you! Lincoln Christian University hosts this Jr. High retreat weekend on their campus. Awesome music, big games, and pizza await you. Get registered by October 13th. The Fall Harvest Party will be Oct. 31st from 6-8 pm. We’re collecting candy in the Fellowship Hall. Spread the word! Finally, the Stu-dent International Conference on Missions joins ICOM again in Kansas City on Novem-ber 14th - 17th. If you’re interested in going, please contact Joe ASAP!

Thanks to those who have been bringing in stamped envelopes. We encourage more to join us as we make a difference in the lives of children we will probably never see on this side of Heaven! The number of donated stamped envelopes has increased since we started collect-ing at LCC last year. We are anxious to see that trend continue through 2019 as more people learn of this unique ministry that costs you nothing to be involved but has eternal rewards!

You can contribute to this cause by donating your stamps in the silver tray located on the main desk in the church office. Thank you for supporting this on-going ministry!

please contact the office. Phone: (309) 962-6491.
