Wound is the damage of normal skin caused by outer factors such as surgery,force,heat,electricity,and chemical substances,and also inner factors such as barrier of blood supply.Skin integrity is thus impaired or some normal tissues are lost. At the same time,normal function of skin is influenced.

3)Factors which influences the wound healing1.Wound is not handled properly:this is caused by lack of basic knowledge of wound care and proper using method of wound dressings.2.Wound humidity:cells,enzymes and growth factors can't be activated in the dry environment.When they are in hunmid envionment,their activation will be enhanced,and wound healing is accelerated.3.Wound temperature:cells and enzymes in the wound can be best activated in the normal body temperature.It is indicate by research that:when the wound temperature is 2℃ lower than body temperature,the activated ability of cells and enzymes will be significantly decreased.4.Deficiency of blood supply:change of pessure,friction,and shearing force will cause inflammation of small vessels,and thrombus is generated,therefore wound healing rate is affected.5.Infection of wound:wound area infection will cause the necrosis of tissue cells,and wound healing rate is influenced.6.Scab formation：scab formation will influence the metabolism of wound area and immigration of epithalization.7.Pain:pain of the wound area will cause the vasoconstriction,then oxygen supply will be decressed,and restructure of vascular tissue will be infiuenced.

How to use

They are particulariy useful in dry, necrotic wounds.The moisture donated by hydrogel dressings can help to soothe the wound and reduce pain. They are also able to absorb a certain amount of exudate, therebyproviding moisture balance at the wound surface.The high moisture content of hydrogel dressings can also provide a barrier to microorganisms and help to prevent infection.

Advantages Information for use The wound should be cleaned and disinfected before use. After the skin around the wound is dry, choose suitable size of the wound dressing, completely cover the wound. Flat sheet hydrogels: tear off the protective film on the surges of the dressing and apply it directly to the wound. Amorphous hydrogels: use second dressing to fix the products (gauze dressing, transparent film and non-woven tape etc.) Hydrogels are not suitable for highly exuding wound as they provide increased moisture. Hydrogels can be used in infected wounds, as long as the patient is receiving systemic antibiotics and the dressing is changed regularly.

The product has a good hydrophilic performance, can absorb the wound exudates, and no adhesion, does not damage the new granulation or epithelial tissue when changing the dressing. The product is transparent, easy to observe the wound at any time. The product is soft, elastic, has a good mechanical properties, non-toxic side effects, and permeability.

Hydrogels are produced as a gel with little firm structure (known as amorphous dressings), or as flat sheets with a gel component added. Despite the fact that hydrogels contain high levels of water themselves, they are usually made up of a three~dimensional network of hydrophilic polymers, which are able to absorb moisture, such as wound fluid (exudate). How to use

Instructions Clean the wound and the surroundings with saline. Dry skin around the wound. Place Honey gauze dressing directly onto the wound, with either side facing down. For larger wounds, multiple dressings can be placed side by side, while for smaller wounds, this honey dressing may be cut to size with clean, sharp scissors. Honey gauze dressing may be unfolded to cover larger wounds, but because this reduces the concentration of the honey, this also reduces the efficiency of the product. Cover Honey gauze dressing with a second dressing of your choice. Honey gauze dressing may be changed daily, or left in place for up to seven days, but for maximum effectiveness, it should be changed when the dressing color changes.

ContraindicationsA known allergy to honey or bee venom. Honey gauze dressing contains glucose, although it is considered safe for use by diabetics. However, it is advisable to closely monitor blood sugar levels during use. A few patients experience increased pain due when this dressing is applied, but this can be helped by ensuring the dressing is at room temperature before using. If the package is damaged or open please do not use.

How to use

InstructionsOil Emulsion Vaseline gauze for use as a primary dressing in the management of light to medium draining wounds, such as minor bums, lacerations, abrasions, skin ulcers, and episiotomy incisions. Thesedressings may also be used under the care of a health care professional for heavy draining wounds such as surgical Incisions,skin grafts and dermal Moderate/Highly Exudating Wounds Non/Minimally Exudating Wounds Superficial Wounds Surgical Wounds Clean the wound with saline. Dry skin around the wound. Select the appropriate size, tear the package (or tear the bottom of the reel), remove the protective paper with gloves and tweezers, cover the wound surface directly with single-dressing. If need, use the second dressing ,fix the dressing with bandage. Change the second dressing for absorption. Not need to change the paraffin gauze. The frequency of change is depend on the wound .ranging from once a day to twice a week. Remove the dressing with saline if the dressing is sticked to the wound.

Povidone Iodine Dressing

Medical povidone iodine gauze for pharmacy careis a non-adherent surgical dressing containing the disinfectant povidone-iodine (PVP-I). This dressing is typically used on open wounds that may become infected, before or after surgery or even used on existing infected wounds. Before use, patients will be asked about any known susceptibility to iodine hypersensitivity.

The dressing is a topical wound dressing containing an ointment of 10% povidone-iodine or PVP-I. The dressing contains polyethylene glycol (PEG) and purified water as inactive components.

It is a rather thin dressing that comes sandwiched between backing papers. It will usually require some incisions made to allow it to flex for parts of the body such as a finger or toe. It is applied directly to a recently cleaned wound or even over necrotic tissue with no underlying treatment.

The dressing itself does not have adherent properties apart from the ability to absorb some moisture or blood, and is typically held in place using gauze and then bandage material.

The povidone polymer provides a sustained release of iodine. The polyethylene glycol provides a moist environment allowing the iodine to reach the bacteria in the wound. PVP-I is the broadest spectrum antiseptic for human use and has no reported cases of acquired reistance and is therefore a very effective bactericide.

The dressing is easy to remove without causing pain or trauma, and leaves minimal residue on the surface of the wound.Wounds that show signs of clinical infection may be dressed with Aquacel but the dressing should be changed daily and the use of systemic antibiotic therapy considered. The dressing should not be used on patients v dressing or one of its components.

Method of use An Aquacel dressing, chosen to be slightly larger than the area of the wound, is placed in intimate contact with the wound base and covered with a sterile secondary dressing held in place with surgical tape or a bandage as appropriate. On lightly exuding wounds it is possible to apply the dressing then gently moisten the area directly over the wound with sterile water or saline. The nature of the secondary dressing will be governed by the condition of the wound. If large quantities of exudate are anticipated, a simple absorbent dressing pad may be required. but as the wound heals and less exudate is produced, a thinner pad bearing a plastic film of low adherence may help to conserve moisture and prevent the wound drying out too quickly. Deeper cavity wounds or sinuses may be dressed with Aquacel Ribbon, which should be placed gently in position but not packed in too tightly. PVA Nasal Dressing with gauze

Mechanism of actionWhen contact with water, the gauze cover can form a viscous

gel and block the bleeding capillary vessel quickly. In the mean

time, the expanded sponge provides a controlled pressure on

bleeding site. Double functions make the hemostasia easily

accomplished.

Directions■ Select a proper type of Nasal Dressing and unpack the product, then take it out.

■ Insert the Nasal Dressing into the part required along the nasal meatus.

■ Inject a proper amount of sterilized water, saline or antibiotic solution into the gel expansive

sponge with an injector to make the sponge expand fully.

■ Fix the string to the wing of the nose.

■ After 24 to 48 hours, observe whether there is active hemorrhage. If not, inject sterilized

water or physiological saline into nasal cavity to saturate the sponge. Several minutes later,

gently pull the string and take the product out.

PVA Nasal Dressing is an effective nasal hemostatic product, because of its safety,

softness, anti-adhesion, easy to release and other characteristics, it has become a good

clinical instrument for nosebleed, nasal cavity, sinus postoperative hemostasis.

Mechanism of action

PVA sponge absorbed water, expansion according to the shape of nasal cavity , fit

around, so that all parts of the nasal cavity can be uniform force, full compression of

small blood vessels in the wound, effective hemostasis.

Indications

Epistaxis and postoperative hemostasis of nasal cavity and paranasal sinus.

Contraindications

Those who are allergic to the product are prohibited.
