My duties included:

● Managing marketing communications with shareholders, stakeholders and business networks. ● Research and editorial of corporate communications and liaising with various groups such as the Australian Chamber

of Commerce. ● Creation of marketing, promotional and shareholder materials, both print and electronic. ● Managing support services, including IT sourcing. ● Budget management with the relevant documentation submitted to the company’s financial advisors monthly. ● Managed payroll and was responsible for the disbursement of company cheques to staff, service people and for

employee superannuation payments. ● Organising company participation in major industry conferences and events. ● Liaising with the company’s legal representatives regarding accreditation with statutory bodies and the regular

My ultimate position at Sony Music Australia was a wide-ranging role as the primary point of contact between the marketing and sales divisions, focusing on consumer marketing and merchandising. I also co-ordinated two major national retail accounts and co-managed the import department.

Retail Marketing & Marketing, Brand & Internal Communications duties

● Responsible for the planning, execution, creative, budget and post-campaign sales analysis for all Sony Music Australia retail initiatives.

● Editorial and design for all print advertising and managing relationships with print and digital media regarding advertising spends and logistics.

● Responsible for the distribution channels and supply chain management processes for all merchandising ● Designed and composed marketing copy for all posters, artist presenters, point sale material, competition material

and general merchandising and was responsible for the creative and design of logos for all sales campaigns, used for print, web and television.

● Managed the retail marketing calendar ad pre-emptively created seasonal logos, campaign themes, order forms, point of sales and merchandise.

● Managed the updating of the company intranet ensuring all marketing directives, brand plans and point of sale were available to the entire company.

● Responsible for all marketing documents as well as creating logos, copy and order forms for all campaigns. ● I was the primary liaison between the local and international marketing departments and the sales department,

responsible for communicating marketing strategies to the sales department and the wider company. ● I designed album cover artwork. ● I fostered collaborative relationships with all company divisions, locally and internationally. ● Created long-form presentations for major retailers and store buyers for branding and sales campaigns.

● Liaised with video, design and POP agencies and coordinated the supply to them of photos, video, logos and copy and was also responsible for the review and approval of their work.

● Trained and supervised all in-house and third party merchandisers nationally.

Key retail account co-ordinator & Import department duties

● Primary point of contact for two major national accounts ● Editorial for campaign directives and organised copy, artwork, video and release data for all sales initiatives. ● Co-ordinated regular live events at the Woolworths Ltd campus to benefit the Sydney Children’s Hospital. ● Managed the national distribution of all POS material. ● Designed, edited and composed copy for the monthly Sony Music Indent Newsletter. Duties include sourcing artwork

and composing copy for all releases and overseeing content management system updates.

Key professional achievements:

■ Established standards and operations for Dayton Way Financial Hong Kong in their first international office.

■ Developing marketing and communications expertise in a new business field and in a new region.

■ Developed my design skills to assume in-house control of all merchandising creative.

■ Devised and implemented an innovative retail display concept, creating a point of purchase system that could be regularly refreshed at minimal expense.

■ Introduced a nationwide, traceable central distribution system and database for all merchandising.

■ Was recognised for my design skills and became the informal in-house graphic designer for the company, designing corporate presentations, event merchandise, posters, signage, CD covers and press advertising.

■ Designed and implemented an innovative combined order form/CD sampler for retailers to introduce new artists

and campaigns and to encourage immediate sales and re-orders.

■ Created a database for Dayton Way’s CEO featuring thousands of contact details.
