Jarace™ and Jarcal™ products can be used in a wide variety of applications in the nutritional, food, and

beverage industries. Jarace™ CA, PB-33, SB-33, and SDA all act as mold inhibitors. Most of our

products also double as flavor enhancers or antimicrobials. Jarace™ SA-FCC is an adjuvant and pH

buffer. These products can be used in anything from cake batter to beer, depending on the desired func-

Jarchem’s Jarquest™ phosphonate products have many unique properties. They are the solution to many

water treatment and cleaning problems including scale formation, redeposition of soils, and stain removal.

Jarquest™ phosphonates exhibit multifunctional properties, such as excellent chelation, threshold scale

inhibition, dispersion, and metal control. They also offer outstanding hydrolytic stability. These properties

Jarchem’s unique specialty alcohols are available in many grades to meet all applications, including cosmetics and

personal care, pharmaceuticals, metal processing, textiles, lubricants, printing inks, surfactants, and many additional

technical applications.

Jarchem’s branch chain saturated alcohols are chemically 2-Alkyl Alkanols, aka Guerbet alcohols. Both alkyl groups

are 100% linear with corresponding molecular weights, resulting in low viscosity, improved biodegradability, excellent

color, and thermostability.

Jarchem’s unsaturated oleyl alcohols are straight chain, monohydric, monosaturated, primary alcohols. They are pro-

duced by high pressure reductions from either vegetable or tallow unsaturated fats.

Jarcol™ Alcohols as Coupling Agents in Concentrates of Water Miscible Metal Coolants

The solubilizing power of Jarcol™ alcohol assures that the concentrate remains a homogenous, one-phase mixture over a wide

temperature range. Additionally, the alcohol functions as a lubrication enhancer.

Jarcol™ Alcohols as Defoamers of Water Miscible Metal Coolants

When used between 3 - 8% it will prevent the formation of stable foam during the use of emulsions.

Jarcol™ Alcohols as Low Volume Spray Metal Coolants

Jarcol™ alcohols from C12 to C24 are available to balance lubricity and cooling performance. The low viscosity assures good

wetting of the metal surfaces, especially with products from our Guerbet alcohol line.

Jarcol™ Alcohols as Constituents of Forming Pastes

Mixtures of straight chain fatty alcohols and Guerbet-alcohols can be used to formulate pastes, i.e. for metal forming.

Jarcol™ Derived Esters as Base Oils for Metal Coolants

Jaresters™ offer good thermal stability, high flash points, and low viscosities, even at high molecular weights.

Jaric™ Acids as Components of Metal Processing Fluids

Odorless acids with low melting points, available from C12 to

C36, with Jaric™ I-16 being the most commonly used.

Jarchem’s specialty monomers provide a wide range of functionalities for various industries. NNDMA offers improved glass adhesion,

increased hydrolytic stability, and excellent optical properties. NIPAM is a crystalline solid that is optimal for temperature sensitive poly-

mers. NVP is a UV/EB reactive monomer used in plastics, wood, paper, metal, inks, electronics, and adhesives. HEAA is a liquid

acrylamide derivative that acts as a reactive monomer crosslinking agent yielding high activity in photo-polymerization.

Jarpol™ PVPs (Polyvinylpyrrolidones)

Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a hygroscopic, amorphous polymer supplied as a white free-flowing powder or a clear aqueous solution.

It is available in several molecular weight grades, characterized by K-value, and can be used in a variety of applications. The strength

of adhesion increases with the molecular weight. When dry, it is a light flaky powder which readily absorbs up to 40% of its weight in

atmospheric water. In solution, it has excellent wetting properties and readily forms films. This makes it good as a coating or an additive

to coatings. Jarpol™ PVPs can act as dye-receptive resins, film formers, adhesives, complexing agents, binders and stabilizers, and

protective colloid and suspending agents. They increase the wetting and lubricating effect in vanishing creams, sun proof creams, and
