Knowledge sharing session 2 entitled ‘Anaerobic Digestion’ was deliv-ered by Professor Ab Aziz Abdul Latiff. The audience were exposed to the fundamentals and advantages of anaerobic digestion which can be applied to high strength of wastewater due to its ability to reduce or-ganic matter especially bacteria with no oxygen needed and produced biogas as fuel to generate heat and energy. The session was also enliv-ened by the gift certificates to ‘Student Committee Member of Pollu-tant Research Centre 2017’ to inspire the committee. The program was held on 2nd March 2017, at Bilik Taklimat 1, FKAAS, UTHM.
MS Excel short course
was successfully con-ducted on 30th March 2017. Junita Abd Rahman, an FKAAS PhD candidate delivered a short course on how to present and analyze research data using MS Excel. 25 stu-dents with various background of study participated in this short course. The session was divided into 3 sub-topics: 1) Using formula to tabulate data (conditional formatting, IF formula, etc) 2) How to make a
catchy graph (Excel vs Origin) 3) Statistical analysis (Regression, ANOVA and Correlation) using Ex-cel. The hands-on activity really helps the students to improve their skills. The short course was very beneficial to all participants.
