Sound Waves’ is a not-for-profit community choir based in Hastings, East Sussex. We are a friendly group who just love singing together. We formed in January 2009 and currently have about 50 members. Everyone is welcome to join us. No previous singing experience or ability to read music is needed. There are no auditions.

Cotton Candy

A project based on crafts of all kinds – from quilt making to wood work. People with a learning disability are paired with a mentor to work with on their chosen craft. There are social events, workshops and opportunities to sell pieces at market and to enter local and national competitions.

Some sessions are just for people with learning disabilities. There is also support to get involved in community sports or competitions. At the moment sports sessions are free (early 2015). Sessions will be free for as long as possible. Call Gabbi to find out more.

We enjoy a variety of country dances - mainly English, but with occasional American or Scottish.

We will support anyone with a learning disability in fulfilling their spiritual needs through Christian teaching and worship. We are a branch of the national organisation Prospects. We meet for half an hour for teaching and wroship followed by refreshment and chat. The group is run by a team of volunteers from the local churches.

We aim to repair and restore the Victorian Walled Garden at Bohemia for Horticultural uses. We also aim to develop the cultural and artistic opportunities that it will offer.
Anyone wishing to join this community project is welcome to visit and work in the garden with tools that are available on-site. The walled garden is open to the general public every Sunday morning from 10am until 12noon. Becoming a member is free. There is an application form on our website.

The Railway Land project
