2018 Missouri Chapter APWA Sponsorship Now Online!

Dear Potential Sponsors, The American Public Works Association exists to develop and support the people, agencies, and organizations that plan, build, maintain, and improve our communities. Just as communities count on their public works professionals, APWA strives to be the organization those professionals know they can count on. 2018 APWA National Awards Program

APWA‘s National Awards Program was established to recognize outstanding individuals, groups, and chapters representing the best in the public works profession. For the past twelve years in a row, the Missouri Chapter APWA has received the Presidential Award for Chapter Excellence (PACE). This award recognizes APWA chapters for contributions made to positively impact their membership, profession and community. Chapters are evaluated based on their membership, service to chapter members, advance-ment of public works and sustainability and service to community.

The Missouri Chapter APWA is one of the premier chapters in the association. This award demonstrates the high quality of our public works leaders in the area.

In addition to meeting the criteria listed above, to be eligible a chapter that has more than 500 members must also nominate at least one individual for the Top Ten Public Works Leader of the Year Award and nominate at least one individual/group/project for any three other national APWA awards.

STL PW Director’s Forum and Superintendent Forum

At the September 20th PW Directors' Roundtable, we discussed an online forum, which would allow for ex-tended discussions for Public Works Directors and Superintendents. With assistance from APWA National, both forums are now up and running. One forum is reserved only for PW Directors and equivalents and anoth-er forum is set up for Superintendents and equivalents in the St. Louis Branch. Our goal is to have candid discussions and exchange ideas to the benefit of all our municipalities. All Superintendents and Public Works Directors in the STL Branch are invited to participate, but you must be registered as an APWA member with National in order to utilize the forums. To subscribe, please visit the following links: PW Supts: http://infonow.apwa.net/group.htm?mode=home&igid=235865 PW Directors: http://infonow.apwa.net/group.htm?mode=home&igid=232052 You can adjust settings to receive emails as they are posted, once per day, or never (access via website on-ly). Questions and responses can likewise be posted either through the website or by email. Initially, Steve Meyer will be the moderator, but that responsibility will be shared in the future. For technical questions related to the forum itself, please contact Ashley Wilson: [email protected].
