Thursday January 7 @ 8PMAn in-depth chronicle about the high cost of war on the brave heroes and heroines who fight for our freedom. We follow a group of disabled U.S. veterans who are about to be given a service dog.
The story of a great milestone in aviation history: the 1935 crossing of the Pacific Ocean by a Pan American
Airways flying boat known as the China Clipper. The documentary series recounts the development
of this technological innovation – led by Pan Am’s chief executive Juan Trippe, pilot Charles Lindbergh,
airplane engineer Igor Sikorsky and radio engineer Hugo Leuteritz – with dramatic re-enactments,
interviews with historians and biographers, and archival photographs, newsreel clips and film.
As she battles her own demons, Chief Inspector Valeria Ferro seeks to find truth and justice by solving the puzzles behind
crimes motivated by jealousy, vendettas and repressed anger. From Walter Presents, in
Italian with English subtitles.
Saturdays @ 8PM Beginning January 2
Celebrate love with Lucy Worsley as she delves into the seductive history of British romance, uncovering the
forces that shaped ideals of romantic love during the Georgian and
Victoria eras, including the novels of Jane Austen.
Friday, January 1 & 8 @ 7PM
The Story of China, written and presented by historian Michael Wood, explores the history of the world’s oldest continuous state, from the ancient past to the present day.
Home to over a billion people, China is the new superpower, a country we all want to understand now, and Wood argues that to do so we have to look at its history. Travelling across the country, he explores the landscapes, peoples, stories and cultures that have helped create China’s distinctive character and genius over more than 4,000 years.
Tuesdays @ 7PM January 5, 12 & 19
Wednesdays @ 7PM Beginning January 13
1900s Vienna: a hotbed of philosophy, science and art, where cultures and ideas are espoused in the city’s grand cafes and opera
houses. Yet beneath the genteel glamour, nationalism and anti-Semitism are on the rise. Max Liebermann is a brilliant young English-
born Jewish student of the controversial psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. Eager to
study actual criminal activity, he is paired with the skeptical Detective Inspector Oskar
Rheinhardt, who is struggling to solve a series of particularly gruesome murders.
