VETERAN’S ASSOCIATION AT
DOLCE VITA
Next meeting will be Monday January 14, at
3 PM in the Craft Room. All are welcome to
attend!
Many Thanks To Our Many Donors By the time you read this, your many
Thanksgiving and Christmas donations will
have been delivered to the San Carlos
Reservation/Mission. Over 120 very gra-
cious Apache families were fed thanks to
your generous gifts of money and food at
Thanksgiving time. Many of our residents
also made beautiful hand knitted
scarves, hats, gloves etc.
Sister Ruth Barbra was all smiles knowing
that many Apache families would be fed
for the holiday. Over thirty caring Dolce
Vita residents, in thirteen vehicles, gave
their time and effort to loading the many
boxes of food. They also drove up and
unloaded the precious cargo onto wait-
ing empty tables for the Apache volun-
teers to sort for distribution to the fami-
lies.
The Christmas donations are scheduled
for delivery in the near future, so the total
for Christmas wont be known until after
that distribution. Please know that the to-
tal will be made known afterward.
Carol and I feel blessed to be living in
such a giving and caring community like
Dolce Vita. From our first food drive six-
teen years ago to the present, our deci-
sion to join the Dolce Vita Community has
been reaffirmed. Thank you for your con-
tinued support of our less fortunate
Apache neighbors.
BIBLE STUDY NEWS We thank all who stopped by our table at
the Activities Expo. We want those who
shared prayer concerns to know that we
lifted those up in prayer and are trusting
that God is working in their lives. If anyone
has a prayer concern, please call Ron
DeCarlo (623-516-8491). We heard from
some people that they are hesitant to
come on Tuesdays because they can’t
make it every week or they don’t want to
have homework. Here’s the good news…
there is NO HOMEWORK! We meet and our
teacher has prepared a lesson that illumi-
nates Scripture. We all discuss it and see
what the Bible is teaching us and how we
can apply it to our lives. While there is of-
ten a theme or a study that runs several
weeks, you do not have to attend every
Tuesday. You will learn about the Bible and
be encouraged and strengthened every
time you do attend. So please consider
coming to our Tuesday morning gatherings
at 9:00 A.M. in the card room.
CAT RESCUE If you see an outdoor cat in the Dolce
Vita Community please call Christi Parrish at
405-990-0601 who can help. Thank you!
LAKE MICHIGAN SHORE PARTY
A reminder that the Lake Michigan Shore
Party will be held in the ballroom on Satur-
day, January 26, 2019! If you live or have
lived in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, or Wis-
consin, we want to see you there. We are
working off the lists we have from last year
and you will be receiving a letter with more
specifics by January 15th. If you have not
received a letter by Jan. 18th please con-
tact Liz Whitefoot Lot 1058 (920-750-9451)
and I will get one to you. This is a great
way to meet people, eat good food, and
have a wonderful time. See you there.
