I am looking forward to another year of fun, fellowship and of course food. Please note our 2016 Activities List at the end of this newsletter. What Happened Last Month?

A Holiday Dinner at Eckert’s Farm

We enjoyed a Holiday Dinner at Eckert’s Farm. The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and honey/doughnut rolls were simply wonderful. There is also a nice gift shop where we were able to find great baked goods and lovely accessories for every home.

We welcomed Fred and Martha Cotsworth At the Holiday Party, we welcomed and initiated Fred and Martha Cotsworth to our Airstream club. They have a new 27’ Flying Cloud and enjoy babysitting, model shipbuilding, kayaking, and crossword puzzles.

The dinner included slide presentations Sharon and Darrell Waters gave a presentation about their trip to the Holy Land. This included a slide show and stories describing the area that means so much to so many different religious groups.

Suzy Shepard gave an end of the year slide show of all the past year’s events.

Passing the baton from Suzy to Ray 2015 past president Suzy Shepard was given the gift of giving. Ray Kolley gave her a gift check for the past year’s service and Suzy gave this check to Common Sense. The next year of the Greater St. Louis Airstream Club will be a great success with Ray at the helm and JoAnn Kolley supporting him in the wings. Come out for our first event – the Valentine’s Luncheon and surprise class. See the schedule to reserve your spot.

stadium seating in the shade.

Pictured left above, you will see rally participants having a nightly meal and fun. The middle picture shows a trip to watch floats being made. The right picture above is the Downton Abbey float that included a celebrity from the show, Elizabeth McGovern. She grew up in California and plays the Countess of Grantham in the drama. She said, “As we enter our final season, this gives me an opportunity to acknowledge our millions of fans in the United States and around the world.” The float had over 60,000 roses.

I highly recommend going to this rally next year. You will enjoy every tour and event.

Club Pets Paradise Park Florida Pet Show

Paul and Karen Lloyd have a rather beautiful and smart pooch Rascal. He is featured to the left. He is the big brown dog with the green bandana on his neck and walking with his pal Paul. Send in your pictures of your favorite pet and we will feature it here.

The annual Rose Bowl Airstream Rally was held the week of New Year’s Eve. There were twenty-seven Airstreams parked in a school parking lot in Pasadena and right across the street from a giant upscale Macy’s store.

Have you ever parked your Airstream next to an exclusive shopping area including spas, jewelry stores, great dining restaurants and a Trader Joe’s? Forgot something? Just walk across the street and purchase that item. The Rose Bowl Rally offers you this exclusive camping experience at rural camping rates but in the middle of a popular Pasadena residential and shopping district.

The parade route is only three blocks away. The Airstreamers get protected reserved

Paul and Karen Lloyd

Paul and Karen Lloyd are in Paradise Park, Florida with their pet dog Rascal. Look at the previous page to see Rascal featured as pet of the month. To the right you will see Rascal taking Paul for a walk while Karen acts as the paparazzi taking pictures of the two.

Wanita and Joe Bublis Send Wanita and Joe Bublis good vibes and prayers. Wanita has been in the hospital and is now resting at a nursing facility where she will regain her strength and health. Here she is pictured at last year’s rally and icing about four dozen cupcakes. We promise in 2016, we will let Wanita rest at the rallies.

Door County Caravan

Don’t forget to get your reservations in for the Door County Caravan September 14 – 23, 2016. Ed Knernschield and JoAnn and Ray Kolley will be leading the group. Pictured is the historic house where you will plan and serve a dinner just like people did before modern conveniences. A must do caravan with a myriad of great events.
