We are blessed by your presence with us

parishioner, relatively new to the parish,
home from school, or visiting for the
weekend, we are grateful that you have
chosen to worship here at St. Louis
Catholic Church. As Roman Catholics, the
Holy Eucharist is the center of our lives,
and the source or our mission.
Nourished by the Word of God, we strive
to instill family values, promote social
justice, and foster life-long formation in
the Catholic faith. As we work together to
build a community dedicated to living the
Gospel, we commit ourselves to generous
stewardship and the responsible use of
our spiritual and material resources.

N e w s & N o t e s Natural Family Planning A Natural Family Planning Class will be
held on Sunday, February 4th, from
9:00am to 12:15pm in the Deanery
Resource Center at St. Louis. There is a
$40.00 fee for books and materials. For
reservations call or text Aly at 812-212-

Baptism Preparation Class The Baptism preparation class is for
parents who are having their first child
Baptized. The next class will be offered
on Tuesday, January 16th at 7:00pm in
the Deanery Resource Center at St.
Louis. Please call the parish office to
register 934-3204.
Fr. Stan Book Club– Book 3 The book, “That Hideous Strength,” by
C.S. Lewis, will be discussed on
Tuesday, January 16th at 6:30pm and
Thursday, January 18th at 9:30am.
House Blessing Fr. Stan and Deacon Ron will be blessing
houses for Epiphany. If you would like
your house blessed, sign-up for a time
slot on the sheets in the back of church.
Celebration of Love The Celebration of Love will be held
Saturday, February 10, 2018 from
6:00pm-11:00pm at the Batesville
Knights of Columbus. The night will
include dinner and a keynote speaker. A
dance, wedding cake and a champagne
toast will complete the evening! Stay
tuned for more details!

We currently have 9 hours in the Chapel that need a scheduled adorer. Please
prayerfully consider taking an hour or partnering with family or friends and sharing
an hour: Sunday - 10:00am, 11:00am, Noon; Monday - 3:00AM, 3:00pm;
Tuesday - 6:00pm; Wednesday - 2:00pm; Thursday - 11:00am; Friday - 1:00pm
There is also a temporary opening on Wednesday 7:00am from January 17th to

Communion for Elderly/Shut-Ins If you are unable to get to church on Sunday in the cold winter months, we can
arrange for someone to bring you Communion. Please call Carolyn Dieckmann at
812-212-9382.
That Man is You “That Man is You” is a program for ALL MEN! We meet every Friday from 6:00am—
7:30am at the Big Four Café. You don’t have to come every Friday, come when
you can. Breakfast is available. All men welcome!
New Parish Pictorial - Mark Your Calendar Family and individual pictures will be taken this
summer for the St. Louis Church 150th Anniversary
pictorial. Dates for the pictures are June 11-16 and
June 18-23. One free 8x10 and a pictorial book will
be given to each family having a photo taken. Don't
miss out on being included in this special book. More
details will follow.
Anyone interested in helping with picture sign ups after Masses, please call the
Parish Office at 812-934-3204. Tables will be set up in the back of church starting
April 7 to book appointments. Help is also needed the days pictures are taken.

Spanish Conference Meeting A special meeting for Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike will be held on Sunday,
January 21st at 5:00pm at St. Louis Church in Batesville. Fr. Saul Llacsa from
the Hispanic Office in Indianapolis will be here to explain how we can give input to
the V Ecuentro (fifth National Conference). You do not have to speak Spanish
because the materials are in both Spanish and English.

Indiana March For Life Monday, January 22, 2018 is the 45th solemn anniversary of the Roe v. Wade
ruling in the United States of America. To remember that date, we will begin the
day with Mass with Archbishop Charles Thompson of Indianapolis and Bishop
Timothy Doherty of the Diocese of Lafayette at St. John the Evangelist Church in
Indianapolis at 12:00pm. This day will also include a march to the capitol
building, various speakers, a prayer service, and wrap up with a youth rally back at
St. John’s. It is sure to be a powerful event for individuals, and families.
Free Concert Oldenburg Academy and the RAA will be hosting the Christian band, The Lasting
Hope on Friday, February 2nd at 7:00pm in the OA auditorium. Admission is
free. Prior to the concert, the Knights of St John, Commandery of Oldenburg will
host a ham dinner in the Holy Family cafeteria from 5:00-7:00pm. Free will
offering. Carry out available.
Holy Hour for Vocations The Vocation Office is hosting an hour of Eucharistic Adoration in
each deanery of the Archdiocese. The intent is to gather people
from cross the Archdiocese to ask our Lord to send out laborers for
the harvest. The Holy Hour for the Batesville Deanery will be at the
St. Joseph Campus of All Saints Parish on Tuesday, February 6th at 7:00pm.
Please join us to pray for many young people to open their hearts to hear God
calling them to service in the Church. All are welcome, including families and
children.
St. Anthony Church Chocolate Event St. Anthony Church in Morris will host a Chocolate Event on
Saturday, February 10th at 5:00pm in the hall. All are
welcome.. Tickets are $10.00 per person, kids 10 & under are
free. Join us for a variety of chocolate items for your tasting
pleasure, a silent auction in the lower hall, vendors with different
items for sale, including a dinner booth selling hot dogs, pulled-pork sandwiches,
slaw, chips & nachos. The talented Oldenburg Academy Singers will perform at
5:30pm. Sponsored by the St. Anne's Ladies Society. Tickets available at the
Church Office 934-6218 or at the door.
