About the F.A.A. Our Mission Statement
The Franklin Art Association was established in 1971 to provide a forum for the promotion of visual arts; for the preservation of the finest artistic traditions by means of exhibiting works, conducting classes, lectures, and sponsoring other activities favorable to artistic expression and to provide friendly exchanges among painters, photographers and those interested in the fine arts.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
We have almost 100 members spread out amongst various towns in MA, including some members from R.I.
Fine Artists and Photographers range from beginners to professional level.
Regular monthly meetings are held at the Franklin Senior Center located at 10 Daniel McCahill St. from 6:30-9:00 p.m. with a business meeting starting at 6:45, the first Wednesday of each month, September through June. Meetings are free and open to the public.
Art shows are held in the fall and spring for a period of one day to one month depending upon the venue. Activities associated with these shows include reception, art work judging, silent auction, student exhibition, raffle, and viewers choice judging.
Workshops are held once or twice a year. These events are led by a recognized artists. Previous workshops have included life painting, oil painting, watercolor and pastel.
Plein Air field trips are scheduled from time to time during the year at various locations
Student Scholarships are awarded each year to a Franklin High School senior who plans on majoring in art. Student portfolios and recommendations are judged by FAA officers.

The VP is responsible for acquiring guest artists to demonstrate and educate members at monthly meetings and negotiate a fee agreeable to the artist and FAA.
Mixing up the demonstrators to cover different media and fields of art is suggested.
Send a letter to the artist to confirm date, time, fee and all necessary details. The letter used for the last three years will be passed on to the new VP.
Generally, demonstrators are scheduled for Sept., Oct., Nov., Jan., Feb., March, April and May. The Dec. and June meetings are replaced with social gatherings planned by the VP.
