Minutes

1. Call to Order2. Secretary stay tuned to the website www.cboa.ca for important information

from the CBOA. If anyone has any suggestions for content to the website pleasedirect it through to Donald via e-mail at secretary@cboa.ca as he is CBOAs pointof contact with the webmaster.

3. Member at Large There are two upcoming socials to mark in your calendars.March 14th there will be a social following the City High School finals. Also,there will be a social on the night of the NCAA Final Four semi-finals April 3

rd.

4. Evaluation If you are looking for an evaluation this winter, please contact Ianvia e-mail evaluation@cboa.ca. CBOA is in the process of ranking officials

according the NCP levels. Please e-mail Ian with the level you think you shouldbe at, with some supporting information (tournaments you have officiated, and the

level of basketball). ASAA basketball provincials are coming up March 18 20th. Please e-mail Ian if you are interested in being considered for a Provincial

assignment.

5. Treasurer the billing for the fall of 2009 was similar to that of fall 2008. If youhave any questions on your cheques please forward them to Evan

treasurer@cboa.ca.

6. Commissioner there are over 1600 games in February. February 4/5 and 19/20are particularly busy. If you can free up some day time on those Fridays, please

let Dick know ASAP.

Many people have been asking about not seeing many games when they open upthe self assign function. Arbiter has been contacted, and they suggest removing

blocks is the best way to be able to see more games.

Record of games prior to December 31, 2009 will be removed by the beginning ofFebruary. If you would like to have record of that, please download it prior to

January 31st.

7. Vice President shirts are in from the fall order. Another order will be placed inthe near future, watch the website for ordering information www.cboa.ca. There

was a production issue with the womens version of the shirt, if you are unhappywith what you received, please let Rod know.

CBOA is considering using a grey short sleeve shirt for summer games.

Unfortunately a sample was not available for the meeting. Further informationwill be available on the website.

Fines have been issued on cheques for a variety of issues (typically no-shows). Ifyou believe you were fined in error or have questions, please contact Rod

vp@cboa.ca.

VP deals with complaints about officials, there were very few in the fall, hoping

that continues this winter.

8. President the following positions are up for election at the May meeting;Education, Member at Large, Treasurer and Secretary. If you have an interest inrunning for one of these positions please contact Fino Tiberi as he will be

coordinating the spring elections.

During the first half of the season we had tremendous support from our mainclients. They have been quick to deal with issues, and are not tolerant of any

abuse towards officials.

Mike Bittante (Education) is away feedback on this years exam is that it is oneof the toughest in recent history. A review of the 10 toughest questions on the

exam was conducted. The document can be found on www.refalberta.ca underlatest news, January 16, 2010.
