Christmas (and New Year) greetings and His peace to you!

Although an entire month has gone by (again begging the question where does

the time go?), and when we entered December, we saw the celebration of

Thanksgiving fading just a bit in our rear view mirror and anticipation of

Christmas taking its place, and finally Christmas itself arrived filling us with

joy as only our true Triune God could.

Everyone has their favorite ‘part’ of Christmas. Some like the hymns and

caroling, some like ‘sampling’ all the yummy food and treats that make their

way onto our tables, some like the family and friends visiting and being able to

visit longer, some simply enjoy the cheerful, happy mood most everyone is in,

some like to see the children take part in the church’s Christmas program and

maybe even concerts and programs at school, but (yep, a ‘but’ clause) nearly

everyone really likes to receive gifts. Is there anyone who doesn’t really like to

get a present?

Just like at Thanksgiving, when we give much thanks and praise for all the

‘daily bread’ and blessings we receive without being deserving, we should

likewise give thanks to Him who not only provides for us daily, but also

eternally with the ultimate gift of all. Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus the

Christ. Especially at this time of the year, when we’re even more thankful that

He sent His Son and what that means to all believers!

As we go boldly (in Christ) forward into not only a new year, but into a new

decade as well, we should strive to remember and give thanks to God our

Heavenly Father for all the things He blesses us with. Both on a daily and an

eternal level. A gift that we will fully enjoy when we are with Him one day.

This may even make for a worthy ‘resolution’ to begin our new year with. We

aren’t perfect in keeping many resolutions, but this one is one I hope everyone

will try to do throughout the upcoming year and into the next.

Because I realize that I have very much to be thankful for, I’d like to start:

St. Paul Lutheran Church

Heavenly Father, I give You thanks and praise for all the blessings and gifts I have

received over my lifetime (especially You making me your own and my marriage to

Sherri & our life together), over the past more than one year here at St. Paul (for the

‘new’ family and friends You have given), and for the privilege of not only receiving

Your call to serve, but also for all of the encouragement and strength You have graced

me with in good times and in hard times. In the name of Your precious Son. Amen.

Sherri and I want to thank you ALL, for all the wonderful gifts, treats, and especially

the kind words and encouragement we receive, especially during this time of the

year!! It is truly a graced gift from God and a privilege and honor to be able to know

and serve you as brothers and sister in His Son’s name!

God’s richest blessings to you and your family in this coming new year!

Your fellow servant in His name,

Pastor Mike

Old Business

*Carillon is here and needs to be installed. Rick will look into this.

* Spray foam will be done soon.

* New website is hard to find through Google. The old website needs to be

deactivated. Pastor and Matt will look into this.

* We need volunteers to rake the roof when it snows. The rake is in the furnace room.

This is a heavy job, and best if done with a couple people.

New Business

*Fellowship Committee needs help. Sign up to bake/serve!

* Speakers in the Sanctuary aren’t working. Rick and Matt will look into this.

*Discussion was had regarding printing the newsletters bi-monthly. We will discuss at

the quarterly.

* It’s been brought to our attention that SPLC doesn’t do as much outreach as we

could. We will look into a group each month to support. This will be discussed at the

quarterly.

Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm upon motion by Carol and second by Robbie, closing

with the Lord’s Prayer.
