Dear Parent and Caregivers Next week is Southern Stars and Year 5 and 6 are looking forward to the excitement of a huge show. Thank you to Mrs Kunkler, Birrahlee and the parents of these students for your conBnued support for what will be an amazing experience. Jamberoo staff go out of their way to provide quality learning experiences and life long memories for our students. These experiences include Southern Stars, Drualla’s excursion to Killalea on Tuesday, Mrs McCormack’s and Mrs Behl-‐Shanks commitment to DebaBng and the School ProducBon and Mrs Xuereb, Mrs McCormack and Mrs Behl-‐Shanks providing Enrichment acBviBes for the Kiama Learning Community. Thank you to a wonderful staff for your dedicaBon in all areas.
NAPLAN results were sent home to Year 3 and 5 on Wednesday and we are very pleased with the progress our students are making. Year 3 were well above state in 4 of the 5 areas measured and on par with state for the fiVh. Our ex-‐students who are currently in Year 7 were well above state in all five areas. Year 5 students have achieved excellent growth in all areas. If you have any quesBons about these results please arrange an interview with your class teacher or with me. Please remember this is just one piece of data we collect as evidence of student achievement.
We send our best wishes to Lachlan Poole and Eliza Schweitzer who are proudly represenBng the school and Tongarra District at the Regional AthleBcs Carnival this week. They are both exemplary athleBc role models.
Staffing Thank you to Mrs Bernade]e Black for her inspiraBonal Librarianship for the first 5 weeks of this term. Mrs MarBn will conBnue in this role for the remainder of the term and is already preparing some exciBng acBviBes for Book Week. CongratulaBons to the students who completed the Premiers Reading Challenge. An awesome effort! Ms Hammond-‐Warne

DebaJng Please note there will be no early morning debaBng on Friday this week or next week, because of a clash with other school events. We will be meeBng to pracBse for our regional final during class Bme and at 8am on Thursday 3rd September. Could all debaters and development team a]ending the final at Lakelands Public please return the permission note to Mrs Behl-‐Shanks before next Tuesday.
Daffodil Day Next Tuesday the 25th September we will be hosBng a muVi day to raise funds for the Cancer Council. Yellow is the dress code as we are recognising ‘Daffodil Day’. All students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donaBon for our charity and wear yellow on this day. You may be able to find some yellow accessory such as a scarf, ribbon or hat, or perhaps you can go head to toe yellow.
‘Murder At Hotel Crumbhorn’ School ProducJon Our producBon date is beginning to creep closer. The actors are liVing their game and the dancers have started rehearsing in earnest. Could all actors please ensure they are learning their lines, as all scripts will be obsolete by the end of this term. A reminder that costumes are expected at school by the end of Week 9, please. If they could be brought in in a bag labelled with the child’s name and part, that would be great. Keep up the great work, thespians!
University students Jamberoo welcomes three pre-‐service teachers who will be working with our students unBl the end of the term. Ms Kassandra Boess is an intern working with Nuninoona, Miss Kimberley Hall is enjoying her first pracBcum with Wyalla and Ms Jacinta Lee will be joining Drualla for her second pracBcum next week. Our students are lucky to have the enthusiasm that comes with these teachers of the future – and the pre-‐service teachers are certainly lucky to experience the delights of our Jamberoo school community.
Books Light up our World Save the date for our Book Week evening on Thursday 3rd September We will be inviBng students and their grownups to snuggle in and share an evening of engaging reading events in our beauBful library. Hope you can all make this fabulous event.

P&C News I received my Parent survey with my newsle]er last week, which led to reflecBon on my student days and the rules which we all followed. I could not imagine my Headmaster having a discussion with us on how we felt about the school rules! I love the posiBve change. Read on for more news from your P&C.
1. Father’s Day stall on Friday 4th September organised by Michelle Heyblok and Nicole Poole
To be part of our Father’s day stall we ask for giVs to the value of $5.00 to be forwarded to the school office. If your child would like to purchase more than one giV, this is possible but please donate the same number of giVs that your child would like to purchase. Please wrap giV donaBons in clear cellophane.
2. P&C BBQ at Kiama Seaside Market on Sunday 20th September organised by Susan Mills. Last year our BBQ made $2506.00 for our school! 3. Agenda for our P&C meeBng on Wednesday, 2nd September will be in next week’s school newsle]er. Please email agenda items to Naomi Poole at [email protected].
