1. Academic Activities
1.1. Conference/ Workshop/ Seminar
1.1.1. One Day Workshop on Right to Information in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Private
Universities Regulatory Commission on August 22, 2015.
The School of Law, JLU Bhopal organized a workshop on 22nd August, 2015 at JLU Student
Enrichment Hub, by Jagran Lakecity University in association with M.P. Private Universities
Regulatory Commission. The Registrars, Asst. Registrars, academicians and other officers of different
Universities participated in the workshop.
The event started with the opening address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anoop
Swarup. He emphasized on the need of Right to Information Act in the Indian context. Prominent
academician and Guest of Honor Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Kumar former Vice chancellor of Sagar
University expressed his concerns over effective implementation of various laws in India.

1.1.2. International Conference on Human Rights: Contemporary Issues and Challenges on October 2
and 3, 2015 in collaboration with World Federation of United Nations Associations.
This mega event witnessed participation from more than 190 Academicians/ Research Scholars/ Legal
Associates/ Social Activists etc. Shri Hari Mohan Gupta, Honorable Chancellor was the Chairperson of
the Inauguration Ceremony and the key note address was delivered by Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi
(Secretary General, WFUNA). Eminent Jurist Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon graced the occasion as
Special Guest of Honor and enlightened the gathering on contemporary challenges in Human Rights
preservation. Inaugural session was followed by a Plenary Session which included a battery of
academicians and experts. In Technical sessions, participants exhibited great enthusiasm and
willingness to deliberate on burning issues related to Human Rights. Cultural programme was a
perfect conclusion of the first day of the conference. After vibrant dance performances by the
students, portrayal of the famous Shakespearian play ‘Merchant of Venice’ was an unforgettable
experience for everyone in the audience.
Second day started with a Brain Storming session that added a lot of value to the seriousness of the
conference. Technical sessions continued on second day. Conference concluded with a Valedictory
Ceremony. Honorable Justice Shri S.R. Bannurmath, Chairman, MHRC was the Chief Guest of this
session and he appreciated the efforts of Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal for organizing a
conference of such a scale and quality. Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Swaroop, Honorable Vice Chancellor
addressed the gathering and also initiated the passing of Bhopal Declaration on Human Rights which
was seconded by the entire gathering.

1.2.5. Dr. Kondaiah J., Assistant Professor, NLIU Bhopal was the speaker of 5th Ignited Minds Lecture
on April 13, 2016.
Dr. Kondaiah enlightened students on Court Room Craftsmanship and exposed them to the
behavioral aspects of profession of legal practices.

Team of Aman Sharma, Jayati Chauhan and Shikha Mishra participated in the III NCU Law
School National Moot Court Competition organised by The NorthCap University, Gurgaon.
Team of Vinamra, Aditya Rai and Prince Dharwa will be participating in the BHU's 4th
Mahamana Malviya Moot Court Competition, 2016.

1.5. Legal Aid Activities
1.5.1. Visit to District Court, Bhopal on October 31, 2015
The Legal Aid Clinic of Jagran Lakecity University's School of Law organized a one day Court visit for
students of BBA-LLB (Hons.) 3rd Semester, BCOM-LLB 3rd Semester, LLB and LLM 1st Semester on
31st October, 2015 to attend National Lok Adalat at District Court, Bhopal. This visit was under the
supervision of Dr. Shobha Bhardwaj, Legal Aid Clinic In-charge and Mr. Abhishek Jain, Assistant
Professor. The students were addressed by Hon’ble Justice Giri Bala Singh, Additional District and
Sessions Judge, Bhopal.

1.5.2. Visit to the NGO – “Parvarish” on November 18, 2015 (Legal Aid Clinic Activity)
Legal Aid Clinic of School of Law, Jagran Lakecity University, organized a social sensitization program
on 18th November, 2015, in which students were taken for a visit to the State Museum, Bhopal, to
meet the under-privileged children of an NGO called “Parvarish”. Prof. (Dr.) C.A.Gurudath, Dean &
Director, School of Law, Dr. Yogendra Srivastava, Dr. Shobha Bhardwaj, and Mr. Shivender Rahul
were also there.
1.5.3. Visit to Central Jail Bhopal on February 12, 2016
On February 12, 2016 School of Law, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, organised a prison visit for
the students in which they were taken to Central Jail Bhopal. The students were exposed to system
of keeping inmates in proper order and discipline and they also learnt as to how inmates go about
the work allotted to them by the jail authorities.

1.5.4. Social Sensitization programme by Legal Aid Clinic – A visit to NGO ‘Parvarish’ on April 6, 2016.
The social sensitization programme was organized by the Legal Aid Clinic of School of Law, Jagran
Lakecity University, Bhopal on 6th April 2016 at the regional museum of Natural history, Bhopal. An
interactive session was hosted with the children of ‘Parvarish, Museum School’, an NGO run for
under privileged children. The entire programme was funded, managed and volunteered solely by
the students of LL.M. and LLB.

1.6. Other Events
1.6.1. Inauguration of School of Law Building on September 20, 2015
20th September 2015 became an unforgettable date in the history of Jagran Lakecity University as it
was marked for the inauguration of the newly built state of the art Law School building along with
the Convocation of the first graduating batch of the University. Chief Guest for the occasion Hon’ble
Justice Shri R.C. Lahoti, Former Chief Justice of India along with Hon’ble Justice M.Jaichandren,
Judge Madras High Court as the Special Invitee was present to inaugurate the Law School building.
The unveiling ceremony was followed with address by Hon’ble Justice Shri R.C. Lahoti, and Hon’ble
Justice M.Jaichandren, wherein they had an interactive session with students.

26, 2015.
