Jade is a community club so all are welcome! However, one must be 18 or older to join Toastmasters.
Jade is the only bilingual English-Mandarin Toastmasters club on the East Coast of the U.S. Our
meetings are conducted in English and members can choose to present their speeches in English or
Mandarin.
We keep our club at reasonable size so all
members have the opportunity to practice.
Jade has a great mix of award-winning
and beginning public speakers. There are
many top-notch speakers and leaders to
learn from, including two district champion-
ship speakers.
Jade offers educational & entertaining
meetings. We use tried and true methods
for improving public speaking and leader-
ship skills. Jade is an award-winning club. Toastmasters International has granted us the Beat the Clock award (2012-2013, 2013-2014) and the Smedley Award (2014-2015) which recognize a thriving membership; and the Distinguished Club award (2012-2013) and the President's Distinguished Club award (2013-2014, 2014-2015) which recognize clubs with active leadership and members who are making pro-gress. Jade has a convenient location: we meet in the New York Life Building nestled in the heart of New York City. Our meetings are easily accessible by public transportation. Jade offers a great schedule for busy New Yorkers. We meet twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Tues-days of each month.
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and per-sonal growth.
See what Jade Toastmasters have to say
I joined because I wanted to learn to speak with confidence and be heard. I have some things to say and wanted to say them better and with excellence. I was attracted to the speeches and views of the speakers. -DL
Jade has two district championship speakers and many seasoned Toastmasters and great new people. Jade helped me improve my public speaking skills and provides speaking opportunities in a posi-tive learning environment. -DC
I love how friendly everyone is. I could tell this was a supportive place to make mistakes. Since joining, I have made major improvements in my public speaking. I no longer tremble as much and I feel more confi-dent. I even won a Table Topics contest with a speech about my love of cheese! If that isn't fun and educational, I don't know what is!

See what Jade Toastmasters have to say
The diversity of people and backgrounds makes Jade great. I also ap-preciate the safeness of the space to grow. I have become a more pa-tient listener. I wanted a club that had a convenient location as well as a time that is a good fit with my work schedule. -KC
Jade is special because we are an international club. I enjoy listening to other peoples speeches through their journey. -JM
My advice is to take the challenge of being scared to speak in the pub-lic and enjoy the transformation. Jade is a wonderful environment; there are always words of encouragement after each speech. It's a wonderful journey that everyone should take. -DL
Jade Toastmasters Club is part of Toastmasters District 46. On November 14th, 2015, the Council of the City of New York honored the District’s 60th
Anniversary with a proclamation detailing the District’s history and successes.
New members receive two manuals: Competent Communication and Competent Leadership. These manuals describe communication and leadership projects which you can complete at your own pace. For assistance with becoming a mem-ber, please contact Julie Sriken, Vice President of Membership at
