When you make energy-efficient improvements, you not only improve the comfort level of your surroundings, you start saving money, too. To make this process simple and convenient, your EMC has partnered with GEMC Federal Credit Union to develop the HomePlus loan program. HomePlus is a fast and economical way to finance your energy-efficient upgrades.

Start Saving Energy and Money TodayHow do I start my home energy improvements? First, determine the home improvements you want to make, and get an estimate for your energy upgrades from Jackson EMC’s participating contractor list. Then, complete a simple GEMC FCU HomePlus loan application and submit it to a Jackson EMC representative. For the appliance loan only, the application may be sent directly to GEMC FCU.

How long does it take to process my loan application?A completed application is generally processed within 24 hours for the appliance loan and up to 5 business days for other energy efficiency improvements.

Do not proceed with your home improvements until you have received confirmation of loan approval from GEMC FCU.

What improvements can I finance through GEMC FCU?You can finance EMC-approved energy upgrades* with a HomePlus loan from GEMC FCU. When applying for the loan, indicate the amount of money you wish to borrow to complete your project.

How and when are my contractors paid?We will verify the completion of your home improvements. At that point, you will sign your loan documents, and the check will be made payable to your contractor and mailed from the credit union.

What is the interest rate for a HomePlus loan?

THE HOMEPLUS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE YOUR ENERGY- EFFICIENCY PLANS A REALITY!

Loan Amount Minimum Rate Term:

$500 - $5,500 3.0% APR1, 2 36 months

$5,501 - $7,500 8.50% APR1 Term Varies by

$7,501 - $25,000 6.50% APR1 Amount Borrowed1APR: Annual Percentage Rate.2Interest Rate reflects an interest rate buy-down program made available through Jackson EMC and will remain in effect until available buy-down funds are depleted. Rate is fixed for the life of the loan.Closing cost is a flat $65, payable at loan closing.Please speak to your GEMC FCU loan representative for available term options.
