I argue that though the Church has changed over the centuries, it has nonetheless remained the Church. I accomplish this by depicting the concept ‘Church’ over a spectrum from traditional (stone Church, Gregorian chant) to modern (high-energy music and gatherings). As the energy of the music increases, the transitions between clips become sharper and follow the beat of the music. The end of the video features four clips from varying stages within the concept of Church which fade to the same nature sounds which began the video. By ending the video this way, I emphasize the nature of the Church as an entity which is at the same time constant and evolving. Requirements: The video features two rhetorical devices: juxtaposition and anachronism. I juxtaposed traditional concepts of Church against the alternate view provided with modern concepts. Additionally, the soundtrack features an electronica rendition of Gregorian chant, which is an example of anachronism because it mixes two aspects of culture that are centuries removed from each other in time.

Additionally, the soundtrack features an electronica rendition of Gregorian chant, which is an example of anachronism because it mixes two aspects of culture that are centuries removed from each other in time. The gradual transition from Gregorian chant to electronic Church music mirrors the narrative arc of the changing Church depicted in the video. I used transitions to add effects to several videos including crossfade, fade to black, and fade to white. Additionally, I used the crop effect to feature four different videos at once at the end of the video. I used exactly 40.29 seconds of the ~5 minutes of video that I shot.
