Medical doctor: consequences of the patient’s disease matched to the demands of the workplace

Social worker: the persons position in the world of work/employment, with regard of the level of his or her rights and social support systems

Psychologist: intellectual, emotional, psycho-social abilities, potentials and obstacles

Occupational therapist: psycho-motor and motor abilities and skills assessment

Vocational assessment specialist : VA, work samples (Workfactor, Ertomis, own development)

Target groups

Persons with physical disabilities, completing programs of medical rehabilitation in the Institute (sent by doctors from medical rehabilitation programs)

Persons with any sort of disabilities that are going to be assessed by the pension board (referred by GPs)

Unemployed persons with physical disabilities and visual impairments referred by employment agencies

Young people with disabilities, finishing elementary education

Others as judged by different referral agencies

Duration of VE and training programs: Tailored to the client’s abilities and needs

Vocational Assessment - two weeks (10 working days, 8.00 – 14.00)

This can be shortened or expanded according to the individual’s needs, as the team understands them.

In the cases of employed clients, additional time to visit the employer and check the real-life possibilities and working requirements

Final report (rehabilitation plan) - within 14 days from the conclusion of the procedures.

Vocational rehabilitation training and employment program - 3 to 12 months, depending on individual’s needs

Ministry of Labour, family and social affairs.

Experiences with Quality Standards:

ISO 9001:2000 for Vocational rehabilitation and supporting processes(since August 2005)At the QS implentation 14 process was defined and documented For each process the following were defined:

In 2008 ISO 9001:2000 was implemented in Clinical hospital for physical medicine and rehabilitation

- Spinal Cord Injury Department.

HACCP (ISO 22000:2005), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (handling, preparation, and storage of food)

EQUASS Excellence (EQRM) (Vocational rehabilitation in 3 different locations) - since November 2007

In 2009 implementation of ISO 9000 to all clinical departments
