Competition, Regulation, andOrganizational Restructuring
The transition to competition involves thoughtfullyexamining a maze of rules and traditional procedures.Regulators and executives confront numerous obstaclesin the path toward industry restructuring. Ultimately,meeting consumer needs efficiently requires that publicand private decision-makers evaluate a variety ofcontingencies to avoid unproductive paths. Thepurpose of this conference is to identify principleswhich can serve as a compass for guiding decisions.Sessions will provide an overview of the industrialterrain in energy and telecommunications, andpresentations will help develop strategies fororganizational restructuring needed in a changingmarket environment.
