Competition, Regulation, and Organizational Restructuring The transition to competition involves thoughtfully examining a maze of rules and traditional procedures. Regulators and executives confront numerous obstacles in the path toward industry restructuring. Ultimately, meeting consumer needs efficiently requires that public and private decision-makers evaluate a variety of contingencies to avoid unproductive paths. The purpose of this conference is to identify principles which can serve as a compass for guiding decisions. Sessions will provide an overview of the industrial terrain in energy and telecommunications, and presentations will help develop strategies for organizational restructuring needed in a changing market environment.
