IWS 2K12, the fifth of the sequel, is organised by Indian Welding Society (IWS), the professional body devoted for the cause

of welding in this part of the world, in association with the Welding Research Institute (WRI), BHEL, Tiruchirappalli,

the one of its kind in Asia Pacific Region, the German Welding Society (DVS), Messe Dusseldorf India, Messe

Essen & Asian Welding Federation (AWF). The three day International Symposium is organised at Bombay Convention &

Exhibition Centre, Mumbai between October 30 and November 01, 2012.

IWS 2k12, will dwell on the theme ‘Vision for Welding & Fabrication Industry’ and unfold the new technologies in the materials development, welding front and material characterisation. The symposium will provide a forum for all stake holders to deliberate on the theme and evolve a vision plan for the welding and fabrication industry

More than 120 technical papers from India and overseas organisations including DVS (Germany), Kobe Steel Limited (Japan), Aichi Sangyo Co. Ltd. (Japan), Hiroshima University (Japan), Nantes (France), FSH, Liburdi (Canada), Air Liquide (France) Polysoude SAS (France), Orbitalum Tools GmbH (Germany), Metrode Products Limited, (UK), etc. are being presented in the symposium.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS

The Indian authors are from organisations including Ador Welding Ltd, ESAB, Modi Arc Electrodes, D&H, IGCAR, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, WRI, DMRL, IPR, NFC, SAIL, Welspun, IOCL, NPCIL, MEHTA SANGHVI & CO, ITW, Wear Resist, CEMAJOR, FSH-Welding India Pvt. The deliberations of IWS2k12 will cover the areas of contemporary interest like:

The technical presentations will be held in 16 sessions spread over three days.
