IUCN Secretariat in Europe is small•Gland – coordinaton of programme, constituency and finance•Brussels – gateway to EU institutions•Belgrade – support to Members and field activities primarily in trans-national protected area and other natural resources management in South East Europe•Tbilisi – support to Members and field activities primarily in forest and protected area management in the Caucasus We do not envisage a large team of Secretariat staff to manage field projects in Europe •although we may need some additional staff to do our work more effectively.

The European Secretariat should support Members and National Committees in their work, and provide the links between Commissions, Members and global Secretariat programme staff.
