IT’S TIME ONCE AGAIN TO PACK
SHOEBOXES! Operation Christmas Child Shoebox packing lists and
boxes are available to pick up in the back of the
sanctuary. You can also go to
www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/covid-19/. On
their website, they will give you ideas to help you build your Shoebox
online. This is a great way to still give during the COVID-19 time. If you
are packing your box yourself, please make sure you have them dropped-
off to us by Sunday, November 22nd!
MY HEART IS OVERWHELMED BY YOUR GENEROSITY
Time has gone by so quickly and Christmas is just around the corner. I want to thank you all over and over again for your kind hearts. You have supported me in all my endeavors through prayer, finances, serving, and baking. I feel like I am the most blessed person because of all of you.
Our Christmas Chest is growing, and last year we helped 38 families provide their kids with gifts for Christmas. I am praying we can reach as many as the Lord wants us to reach. I need your help, if you haven’t already given. Please consider purchasing some gifts for those who are less fortunate. Even if
you can only afford one gift, it makes a big difference. If you don’t like to shop you can make a check to HZUMC and put Christmas Chest in the memo and we will shop for you. Once again, THANK YOU to those who have already given.

Additionally, please pray and see if the Lord highlights to you someone to nominate this Christmas: we are particularly interested in reaching out to working families who often fall through the cracks but still need some assistance, those parents who are working at between minimum wage and around $15 an hour. Also, we are not limiting this to young people. If there is someone who is on a fixed income and might not have enough finances to buy for their children or grandchildren, please consider them. I am leaving that up to you. With the virus this year I am sure we can find those in need. Please pray and hear what God might be saying to you. This is not an open shopping day for just anyone. Because of our own limited resources, families need to be nominated. My committee will then prayerfully decide whom we can bless in shopping. Ideally, with all of your help, we will have enough gifts in the Christmas Chest that everyone that is nominated will be chosen. Below is the nomination form for a family that you might know whom you can give their name to us so they can be able to shop. Please give the information to Lou Ann through an email or a text. You may also drop off at the office to Jean.
The date of our sale will be December 5th from 8:00am – 4:00pm. Beyond donations, we also need help making the shopping day happen! Again, with the virus, we must follow guidelines and everyone MUST wear a mask. If you cannot wear a mask, please do not sign up to help. I also understand for those of you who have helped in the past and cannot help due to the virus. I am asking for those of you who can help to do a 4 hour shift instead of 2 due to the lack of help we will have. I have heard from a lot of you already and greatly appreciate your response to me.
Help needed include: (if you already responded to me, you do not need to do it again)
Wrappers – I need minimum of 3 wrappers (at least) to wrap for 4 hours from 12-4. I could also use extra hands for morning from 8-12 (some spots have been filled)
Food servers – You will be required to serve the food and then wipe tables after each family leaves. From 8-12 (2 people) from 12-4 (2 people)
Please pray and see if this is something that you would like to help with, and let me know through a text at 724-624-4285 or email [email protected] Thank you for allowing me to be the leader of this group and for working alongside me to bless others in our community! Lou Ann Barbish
You can email this information to Lou Ann Barbish, [email protected] or text at 724-624-4285
Date of Christmas Sale is December 5, 2020. We must have these forms to Lou Ann by November 18th so the
team can go over the recommendations.
Please Note: If you have nominated the same family for 2 years we ask that they not be nominated
again. We gave a 2 year limit on families so that we may touch other families in need.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN By Donna Weyman
Corona Busy. Have you ever started a
sentence "Listen to me"? Emphatic yet
sincere. Meaning PLEASE hear what I
have to say. I am actually praying for
those words to come through the Holy
Spirit. I know God's word. I love God's
word. When trouble floats around me, I
know what to do. Lately I have the sense of being
lazy in the word. "I know enough". Yeah, sure. No,
I know I don't know it all.
We will never know it all. I am trying to say that it
feels like my attention span is shrinking.
Sometimes I just want to veg out and let my mind be
entertained, like with something simple and
harmless on TV. You do have to search and pray but
there is such a thing. Question...why can't I think on
the teachings of God's word in the same light?
Calming, relaxing, and entertaining. Why not? The
peace that surpasses all understanding.
The Holy Spirit is whispering to me right now. YA
GOTTA WANT IT. So in this, I pray. Lord, please
catch me. I know You can. Not by might, not by
power but by My Spirit says the Lord.
In this day of ever-growing temptation to be lazy,
letting the earthly entertainment take over, Lord let
your Holy Spirit wash over me and my family. Let
us continually seek You Lord, in our every waking
and sleeping. Even when we rest, let our mind, body
and Spirit be awash in Your plan for our lives.
Praying: Through Your Holy Spirit I would be
moved to passionate interest and worship. I love
You Lord.
So thankful to love and be loved.
Jude 2:24&25 ~ To him who is
able to keep you from falling
and to present you before his
glorious presence
without fault and with great
joy--to the only God our Savior
be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus Christ
our Lord, before all ages, now
and forever more! Amen
