year! It’s been another huge year for the
project and our hospitals. We hope you
enjoy this look back at everything we
achieved this year. Thanks to everyone
who contributes to the update every
week, and who graciously agrees to
have their photo taken so we can tell
your stories.
We hope you have a wonderful summer
break. We will be back in 2019 to open
your new Blacktown Hospital building
mid-year, so lots to look forward to!

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and
Minister for Health Brad Hazzard
officially opened the new Community
Dialysis Centre at Mount Druitt
Hospital in March 2018, marking the
completion of the stage 2 hospital
projects including a new digital
theatre, Pre-Admissions Clinic, MRI
Unit and Centre for Addiction
Medicine.
The event was attended by staff,
patients, and local Elders and artists
who had created the Healing Garden
adjacent to the dialysis centre.

Services Building. The birthing pools
were the most popular for photo
opportunities and everyone had a
chance to sign our wall.

In April 2018, the Acute Services
Building reached roof level and
builders celebrated with a traditional
tree ceremony. NSW Premier Gladys
Berejiklian and Minister for Health
Brad Hazzard joined us for the final
concrete pour, imprinting the last
square of concrete with leaves from
the topping out tree. They also visited
the prototype rooms, signed our wall,
and met one of new bubs.
