(A) FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
I. M.Sc.(Ag.)
Minimum Admission Requirements
B.Sc. (Ag.) degree under 10+2+4 system from a recognized University with good academic
record with 6.00 O.G.P.A. out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent
grades.
(a) In addition to the above, candidates with Bachelor's degree under 10+2+4 system in
Forestry/Horticulture are eligible for admission in M.Sc. (Ag.) Plant Molecular Biology and
Biotechnology with good academic record with 6.00 OGPA out of 10 point scale or 60% in
mark system of examination or equivalent grades.
Rs. 15,000/- (Rs. Fifteen thousand only) per semester will be charged as Plant Molecular
Biology & Bio-Technology Laboratory bench fee excluding Tuition fees.
(b) B.Sc. (Agricultural Biotechnology) graduates shall be eligible for admission in Plant
Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, only.
(c) B.Sc. (Horticulture) graduates shall be eligible for admission in all disciplines of Agriculture
Faculty except Agronomy.
(d) For the admission in “Agricultural Statistics” the candidates must have passed 10+2
examination with Mathematics.
Admission to M.Sc. (Ag.) will be given in the following disciplines:
Agronomy(14), Genetics and Plant Breeding (16), Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry(10),
Horticulture(12), Entomology(10), Agricultural Extension(6), Plant Pathology(6),Agricultural
Statistics(6), Agricultural Economics(10),Crop Physiology(4), Agro-meteorology(4), Plant Molecular
Biology and Biotechnology(2) Agricultural Microbiology(4). Admission to six seats will be given each
in M.Sc.(Forestry) and M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture).
II. M.Sc. (Forestry)
Minimum Admission Requirements
B.Sc. Forestry under 10+2+4 system/B.Sc. (Hon.) Forestry; and also B.Sc. (Ag.)/B.Sc.
Horticulture with good academic record with 6.00 O.G.P.A. out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks
system of examination or equivalent grade are eligible. In case B.Sc. Forestry /B.Sc. (Hon.) Forestry
candidates are not available the candidates with B.Sc. (Ag.)/B.Sc. (Horticulture) passed under 10+2+4
system will be considered only. B.Sc. (Ag.), B.Sc. (Horticulture) admitted to this course have to opt
compulsory non credit deficiency courses of Forestry.
III. M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture)
Minimum Admission Requirements
B.F.Sc./B.Sc. (Industrial Fisheries)/B.Sc. (Ag.) with Biology at 10+2 level/B.Sc. (Biology)
under 10+2+4 system with Botany, Zoology, Chemistry having good academic record of 6.00 OGPA
out of 10 point scale or 60% marks are eligible for admission in M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture).
Candidate with B.Sc. Industrial Fisheries /B.Sc. (Ag.)/B.Sc. (Biology)/ Horticulture passed under
10+2+4 system shall have to undertake two additional semesters over and above the prescribed
duration limit for deficiency courses.

(II) Soil and Water Engineering
Minimum Admission Requirements
B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.E.(Agril.Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Civil Engg.)/ B.Sc.
(Civil Engg.)/B.E. (Civil Engg.).
A good academic record with 6.00 OGPA out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of
examination or equivalent grade in 10+2+4 system in all the above.
(III) Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering
Minimum Admission Requirements
B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.E.(Agril.Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Chemical Engg.)/
B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.Sc. (Dairy Technology/ B.E. (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech. (Food
Engineering).
A good academic record with 6.00 OGPA out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of
examination or equivalent grade in 10+2+4 system in all the above.
Admission to M.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) will be given in Farm Machinery and Power
(8 seats), Soil and Water Engineering (8 seats) and Agricultural Processing & Food Engineering (2
seats) disciplines.
The admission will be done through Common Entrance Test (CET). The question papers for
CET would be of UG standard and of multiple choice objective types.
Vishwavidyalaya reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of seats in
different disciplines.
The CET for Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering Faculty will be held on 16.07.2012 at
11:00 am. There will be separate question papers for different faculties, but for individual faculty,
there will be common question paper.
The CET and counseling will be held at College of Agriculture, Raipur (C.G.). Date of
counseling will be 19.07.2012 at 11.00 a.m. Candidate must have acquired minimum admission
requirement by the last date of submission of application (i.e. 9.07.2012). All candidates will
collect the admit card two hours before the CET from College of Agriculture, Raipur. No separate
intimation will be given.
Selected students must report in person to the Dean of the College on the date of admission
prescribed by the University/Dean of the College for payment of fee and for the purpose of registration
of courses i.e. 23/07/2012.
The prescribed application forms can be obtained from the office of the Registrar, Indira
Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) 492012 on payment of Rs.
150/- (Rs. 40/- in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates of C.G. State) by sending
attested copy of the caste certificate (issued by the competent Authority) in shape of crossed Demand
Draft in favour of “Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.)” payable at Raipur
alongwith self addressed 12 cm x 21 cm envelope affixed with Rs. 20/- Postal Stamp OR the
application forms can be downloaded from the university website www.igau.edu.in. The detailed

information will be supplied with the application form and will also be available on the
university website.
Application form duly completed in all respect should reach to The Registrar, Indira Gandhi
Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur 492 012 (C.G.) either by post or in person on or
before 09.07.2012 along with prescribed fee.
For the reservation category (SC/ST), 5% relaxation will be given in qualifying marks
(minimum admission requirement).
Candidate secured less than 50% marks in 10th and/or 12
th class Board Examination are not
eligible for admission to post–graduate course.
The candidates seeking admission in reserve category shall have to submit photocopy of the
caste certificate verified by the competent authority along with the application form. The candidates
will not be allowed to change the category mentioned in the application form for which the benefits of
reservation is sought.
All candidates other than Chhattisgarh will be treated as general category.
Applications received after due date will not be entertained. The University will not be
responsible for any postal delay.
No separate call letter for written test and counseling will be issued. No TA/DA or remuneration
of any kind will be paid to the candidates for attending the CET and/or interview.
