Fact: Geometric figures are not just found in the worldof math. Believe it or not, we’ll learn about differentgeometric shapes and how they are used to create patternsfor craft projects. We’ll even learn the names of differentgeometric shapes and then discuss their uniquecharacteristics. Designing a geometric pattern is fun andcan be used to make a small quilt or pillow. The campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, with its vast natural
setting, is the ideal location for this exciting new nature program! The program
is being offered in cooperation with the American Adventure Sports and the
Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
There are three tenets to the Junior Naturalist Outdoor Adventure Camp:
1 Adventure Sports: Campers will participate in activities like rock climb-
ing, orienteering, canoeing and water safety, wilderness first aid, CPR fa-
miliarization, and Leave No Trace camping.
2 Conservation Education: Campers will go through at least 8 hours of
conservation education, and will be certified as Junior Naturalists.
3 Environmental Enhancement: Each camper will work on an environmen-
tal enhancement project that will have a lasting and positive effect. Our
belief is that when children are given ownership of their environment, they
will do wonderful things with it.

You can register by mail, telephone, or fax. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and are subjectto class availability. See the chart below for complete information regarding registration/payment deadlines. Seating is limitedin many of the SummerFun classes.
PaymentsPayments must be made at the time of registration and canbe in the form of check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. Reg-ister early and save with our Pitt Pitt PowerPrices! For yourprotection, please do not write credit card numbers on regis-tration forms that you plan to fax to our office. Check-InComplete check-in information (including locations) will bemailed to all participants upon registration. Participants inthe Fun at the Bottle Works should report to the Bottle WorksEthnic Arts Center, 411 Third Avenue (please call our officeif you need directions).

Join us for a very special celebration as LEARN turns 25 years old!
Travel around the globe and learn new cultures, new customs
and new ideas — and enjoy some special Silver Anniversary Sur-
prises throughout the week— at LEARN 2006! The Learning, En-
richment and Recreation Network Program is a day camp learning
experience for youngsters entering grades 3 through 8.
All LEARN 2006 activities will take place on the UPJ campus, featur-ing state-of-the-art computer laboratories with high-speed Internetconnections, high-tech science labs, and lush natural setting. Eachday will include 5 fun and informative classes, lunch, and many otherexciting activities. We’ll end the week with our annual LEARNGraduation. It’s LEARN 2006– where college is for KIDS!
