Introduction• My client, ‘Infinite’ is a Korean band made of 7 boys. They debuted on

June 9th, 2010. They were informed to the audience by their great albums, such as ‘Evolution’ and ‘Inspirit’. However, they wanted to let more people about their music and become their fans. They wanted to promote themselves. Since they don’t know how, they hired me. They want me to find a very effective method to promote their music, performances and the band itself. Now, I have to find different ways to promote ‘Infinite’ in effective ways.

• Throughout the semester, I am going to design a paper-made advertisement that introduces ‘Infinite’. The advertisement will be made to be appropriate for age 12 and above because the band’s songs don’t contain any bad words or inappropriate concepts. To make an effective advertisement to make a lot of people like the band and listen to the music, I need to go through some essential steps. The steps are investigation, design, plan, create, and evaluation. I will first interview my client about how they would like their promotion to be and try my best to make the closest one as possible.

• Q1 What types of music does your band play? - We play and dance 80’s and 90’s music style that has been modified with our own style.

• Q2 What kind of promotion would you like? - We would like a promotion that can be easily seen anywhere. We also want many information about us. However, it should not just contain just words. It should be eye-catchy.

• Q4 How big do you want your promotion to be? - We want it to be handy so people could carry and read whenever they want.

• Q3 What kind of specific content would you like to see on your advertisement? - We would like to have quantitive information about our songs and members and some pictures of performing.

• Q5 What is the reasonable price for the final product? - We don’t want it to be too expensive.

• Q6 When would you like the final product to be finished? - As soon as possible. However, we want a effective promotion so take time and make the best you can.

• After the interview with client, I have brief design of what I will be making in my head. The interview gave me some specific ideas how to create the promotion. I will have to create it handy to be carried. Therefore, it will be made out of paper. The whole promotion must represent the band’s style. It has to be eye catching, pretty to look at, and well organized. It also has to contain good and quantitive information and pictures that show the band really well. The price also has to be reasonable. I will have to use a couple of softwares to create and meet all the needs for my client. I will make it creative so that people will be more interested in the band.

• By looking into three different types of paper promotion, I could see the benefits and limitations to each types. What client needed was a handy, eye catching, lots of information and not too expensive promotion. Poster doesn’t contain a range of information, and the booklet is too expensive. The brochure best fitted the client’s need. Modifying whats missing in the brochure I researched, I could make a good and effective brochure for the band. This case study helped me to get better ideas and aspects to improve my promotion.

Photoshop is a software that is already installed on the Mac book. It allows to create different designs any way I want to. It has a range of functions and effects that makes the promotion to be creative and eye catching. It is a great software to use when having pictures and impactive words.Price: Free

Impact on Society

• Band promotion affects the society in different ways. First, it changes people’s point of view and personal opinions about the band. If the advertising is good, people will like the band more. However if the advertising is not so effective, people will don’t care about the band. Therefore, the quality of the promotion is important. Second, it changes the quality of people’s lives. Introducing a great band and listening to their songs might refresh people’s stress from everyday life. As people get to have less stress and be happy from listening to the songs of the band, it will improve their work skill that will eventually lead to improvements in the whole country and moreover to the world.

• The interview with client gave me some valuable and specific information about how to create the brochure.

• The three case studies allowed me to find the best possible type of promotion that fitted my client’s need, which is brochure.

• The research on the materials and softwares I was able to make a creative and unique brochure by the different effects the each software has. For example I could think of different formats, themes, fonts and more.

• Thinking about the impact on the society gave me an idea of how important the making brochure for the band is. I also got to know how people are affected by good promotion and bad promotion. I will make a good band promotion that will give positive effects to people.
