33 requests for shooting of films, TVfeatures received from foreign filmakers: Govt

NEW DELHI, Dec 18:A total of 33 requests have been recieved this year from foreign

film-makers for shooting of films and television feature films inIndia, the Government today said.

"During the year 2015 (till date), a total number of 33 requestsfrom foreign filmmakers for shooting in India were received,"Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting RajyavardhanRathore said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

The Minister said these requests include shooting of films andTV shows, and added that government was working to promoteIndia as a filming destination.

The I&B Ministry has taken up with Ministries of HomeAffairs and External Affairs issues relating to easing of visa normsas well as simplification of procedures for according permission,duly taking into consideration the security concerns and otherissues, he said. (PTI)

It is unfair to call the nationintolerant: Ravi Shankar

KOLKATA, Dec 18:Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar today said it was unfair

to call the nation intolerant in the wake of some unfortunate inci-dents in some parts of the country.

"There were some sad and unfortunate incidents in some partsof the country. But for those criminal acts, don't call the nationintolerant," he told reporters when asked about his view on the cur-rent debate on intolerance in the country.

In the face of some criminal acts, it was unfair to pass judge-ment on the mentality of the people of the country, Ravi Shankarsaid on the sidelines of a seminar at the airport here. (PTI)
