A wise person said, “It is impossible to be prideful and thankful simultaneously. A spirit of thankfulness implies a certain degree of humility. Consequently, prideful people are not thankful people and thankful people are humble people.” November 2020 will be a season where the Living Waters Staff and church family celebrates members of our Dream Team volunteers who have gone above and beyond in their specific ministries. Each Sunday in November will feature a moment where you will hear the stories of these unsung heroes and we as a church will have an opportunity to say “thanks.” And finally, as Thanksgiving Day approaches, this season affords us great opportunity, as Christ- Followers, to be reminded of the many blessings for which we can be thankful, even in the trials of this COVID pandemic. One of the defining marks of a Christ-like person is that they will be characterized by thankfulness. As we approach this Thanksgiving, may Christ grant to each of us a more thankful heart. May our hearts be overflowing with gratitude for the abundant blessings that He has lavished upon us. And may this testimony of thankfulness be a bright light to the community around us, which is often characterized by complaining and un-thankfulness. Today, may you be reminded of these words: no matter what happens, always be thankful.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Deena and Kevin Querry Co-Lead Pastors

LW KIDS MINISTRY Pre-School: This time of year helps us refocus on all the good in our lives. And there is SO much good when it comes to God. Because God is good! That is what we want preschoolers to learn this month. God is good and we have A LOT we can thank Him for. So, get ready to create those thankful trees and tell God, “Thank You” for all the good things He’s made and done! We can’t wait to celebrate thankfulness all month long! And, in case you didn’t know, we are very thankful for you and all that you do to help preschoolers know that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

Kids’ Ministry: Gratitude sometimes feels like a lost art. Yet gratitude is an idea close to God’s heart. Think about all of the Bible stories where people give thanks to each other, celebrate God with feasts and festivals—not to mention the Psalms filled songs of praise. Just take a moment to consider everything God has done for you: the world He made, the promises He’s kept, the new life He offers through Jesus. When we remember all of that, we can always be thankful

Join us for an interactive devotion on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm on the LW Parent Facebook page!

LW YOUTH Thanksgiving Event – Nov 18th

All of our youth students are invited to join the LW Youth Ministry for our annual Thanksgiving Event, Wednesday, November 18th at 7pm at the church. We might be celebrating differently this year, but we are excited to gather with all of our LW Youth students and leaders to give thanks. Be on the lookout for emails and social media posts with additional information about this great event. We are looking forward to gathering together around the table to celebrate and to show our thanks to God and to our friends.

Hope Fulfilled Gift Giveaway Coming November 21st Our 15th annual Hope Fulfilled event for our Single Moms is coming soon. For your convenience and participation, we have put together a list of suggested items of donation:

• Gift cards - We would like to be able to hand our Single Moms gift cards so they can do their own food shopping. The amount per Mom will be according to what cards come in. If you plan to donate a card or cards, we would appreciate receiving them in increments between $10 and $25 each. You can bring them to the church and drop them in the offering, or mail them to Living Waters Hope Fulfilled Ministry, 9801 Talbert Avenue, Fountain Valley, CA 92708.

• We would suggest the following places for gift cards: ▪ Target ▪ Walmart ▪ Ralphs ▪ Vons ▪ Stater Bros ▪ Albertsons ▪ Aldi ▪ Smart & Final

• NON-FOOD ITEMS - If you would prefer to donate items instead of a gift card, and since we are letting them use their gift card for food, we want to be able to supply our Single Moms with NON FOOD items such as:

Laundry Soap Fabric Softener Dish Soap Kitchen Sink Soap Liquid Hand Washing Soap or Bar Soap Tooth Paste

Tooth Brushes Shampoo Hair Conditioner Paper Towels Cleanser and/or Cleaning Spray Tissues

Toilet Paper Sanitizing Wipes Liquid Pump Hand Sanitizer Deodorant Diapers Baby Wipes

Thank you for contributing to the Single Moms ministry. Please begin to bring these NON-FOOD items to the church campus beginning Sunday, November 1st.

Note: Starting now, you can always give through your tithing/offering envelope with a check or cash or you can also give online.
